I'm not actually Bryan, I'm his teenage daughter. This is a really great band. They're totally unique. I love the beats they put into their music. It's really addicting and makes you wanna dance. If you're into, say, Hawk Nelson or Stellar Kart or other pop-punk bands, then this is totally for you. I have a bunch of friends, guys and girls alike, with music interests from screamo to country to rock, and they've told me they like eleventyseven after just hearing them one time. They're a really fun band, and great in concert, too. I would check out both of their CD's. So if you're looking for a good beat, cool songs, and something just really different, then I've got one word for you: Eleventyseven

Flying Lotus' debut on Warp Records is a curious development of musical ideas, drawing from its influences and predecessors to create something in between glitch, hip hop, and free jazz. More One Word Extinguisher than Donuts, more Beauty & The Beat than Madvillainy, Flying Lotus puts together a variety of contemporary hip hop styles to create a swirling mix of fuzz, beats, and melody. Established melodies reconstruct into minimalist beats, beats get thrown into the sounds of space. Track like "Comet Course" take fuzzed out downtempo and evolve them into the glitch of "Orbit 405" (which really sounds like things in orbit, the R&B of "Roberta Flack" shakes its way into the seduction of "SexSlaveShip." The record is consistent in its deconstruction and reconstruction, never letting the record ... Read More

Again the Pet Shop Boys played their little trick on their fans. The album Very was released in 1994, and didn't do very well commercially or critically, and while the Pet Shop Boys shortly thereafter toured, it had the feeling (partly due to the rumour mill) that this was in fact a farewell series of performances. The next year, when the dual-disc set Alternative was released, the question was largely, 'Alternative to what?' -- a real album, a continuation (Alternative was made up of all the non-album b-sides that had been released during the Pet Shop Boys career, once again fueling speculation that this was a tying-up-of-loose-ends at the end of a career).

Then, in 1996, the album Bilingual was released, again following the by-then-well-established pattern of releasing a single, then ... Read More

7.Inward Journeys by: DJ Faust

OK, Faust may be the finest turntablism practitioner there is. Yes, 'Man or Myth?' hinted at a breadth of vision sufficient to create a masterpiece, an album weighty enough to transcend the rather severe limitations of the genre. Unfortunately, this isn't it. Many of the tracks are mind-bogglingly good. Some of the scratching is not to be missed. But the "concept"--dividing the record into constituent "elements" of Fire, Wind, Water, and Earth--seems an afterthought at best, and a tired one at that. It provides no coherent framework for the material, and you will have abandoned the project on grounds of tedium long before reaching its finest moment, 'The Phoenix', the last of 25 tracks.

This music is a great symphony of wath is called "space music". From the beginning when you feel the people working around the launch pad, and then the farewell to the Earth and the encounters with Jupiter, Saturn and the other moons and planets, you really "feel" been with the Voyagers.
If you like Space and good music, get it.
