I came across this CD when I visited the Stax Museum this past October. I decided to buy a copy of it for a friend's birthday present. I just mailed it to her, so I have not heard her opinion about the album.

From the album cover photo to the music on the CD, Booker T & the MGs do a great job paying homage to the Beatles and their album "Abbey Road." I would have loved hearing Booker T & the MGs do a similar project based on the Beatles "SGT Peppers' Lonely Heart Club Band".

This CD and all of their other releases are proof that there was (and is) more to Booker T & the MGs than just "Green Onions."

I liked this album and the movie. It may not be the best movie ever made, nor was this the best album ever made; however being a fan of the artists who worked on the project I'm a fan. 100%. Yes the movie was cheesy I'll give it that, but who cares.

Personally, I got a kick out of Frampton's face when I asked him to sign my copy of the movie!!! (And YES he's still touring and still KICKS MAJOR @$$ on the guitar!!! The hall of fame honor was long over due!)

But hey, what do I know.... : ) Sure there are people bound to disagree, lets just agree to disagree!

I first heard the 10 to 23 album between 1969 and 1970 and was completely blown away. The staccto chord changes on Little Red Rooster are fantastic.[I don't know of anyone else that can play that fast].

I have been looking for this album in excess of thirty years and finally found it on cd.Can't wait till it comes in the mail so I can relive those days again

Finally two hot early 70's Ike & Tina albums on CD! Nutbush was of course the final big hit before the split -- but these two albums bring funky, hot and sexy soul (i.e. "Kay Got Laid, Joe Got Paid" and "Fancy Annie") sounds, and many of the songs written by Tina. The band, the Kings of Rhythm -- later Family Vibes -- is in top form, Ike plays the piano and the Ikettes add fabulous soulful harmonies. The outstanding track is "Feel Good" --- one of my favorite Ike & Tina cuts. The rhythm, energy, the piano, Tina giving it all with superb backing by the Ikettes --- yes, makes me Feel Good!!! The Ike & Tina Turner Revue was hot, and there is nothing that even comes close today. A must for all fans! Go on, get it!!!!

While nothing is as good as hearing Joe Cocker live and in person, this album comes pretty darned close. His passion comes through as strongly as his talent. A raw, but lived-in voice, lends meaning to the words. A good solid portfolio of his work.
