What a disappointment! This was the first Simpson CD I've ever purchased and it is terrible. I watch the Simpsons all the time and I know there are many many great songs on the show. But did they pick any of those great songs? No! It had way too much talking on it, and a couple different Simpson theme song paradies. The songs were short, I guess I was hoping they would elaborate on the songs a bit more. There were only two songs on it that were fun to sing along with. I based my CD choice on the reviews of this product and I don't know where those people were coming from, but this CD is not the one with all the good songs on it, so pick another one or build your own off itunes.

This is the only recording of the Offenbach-Dorati Suites. I'm surprised that Dorati never recorded them in his career, but he would have had a tough time surpassing these performances. Joseph Levine was an excellent ballet conductor. His album of Tchaikovsky ballet music is one of the best ever. He approaches the Offenbach-Dorati Suites with zest and precision. His orchestra is excellent, and the 1954 recorded sound is clear if somewhat distant. The sound on the 1956 Meyerbeer-Lambert ballet is better, and it too receives an excellent performance, better than the Kunzel/Cincinnati Pops performance that was on Vox. For those who don't know the Offenbach-Dorati scores, they are in the same vein as Manuel Rosenthal's Gaite Parisienne, although Bluebeard uses less familiar Offenbach music. The ... Read More

Burden Of A Day hail from florida, the mecca of all things screamo/metalcore, so their loud, in your face agressive style is almost to be expected. Indeed, BOAD have been drawing comparisons from across the spectrum - likened to everything from underoath and norma jean to taking back sunday and thrice - all in hopes of pinning something down. Now, I'm not about to contradict the critics, but I think they're missing something critical here; BOAD are almost as much pop as they are metalcore or screamo. The proof? Check the chorus on nearly every song. Catchy and concise, seemingly ripped from the playbooks of [insertrandompoppunkbandhere]. This isn't a bad thing, mind you. But it's key when describing the sound.

Another missing comparison (or one that isn't mentioned much), is to Thursday. ... Read More

Well, maybe not perfect, but it's so much fun, while being completely musically genius, that I adore it. I found it with the used albums at a local music store, and had to pick it up. I laughed, I cried, I thought of doughnuts!
