I came across this CD when I visited the Stax Museum this past October. I decided to buy a copy of it for a friend's birthday present. I just mailed it to her, so I have not heard her opinion about the album. From the album cover photo to the music on the CD, Booker T & the MGs do a great job paying homage to the Beatles and their album "Abbey Road." I would have loved hearing Booker T & the MGs do a similar project based on the Beatles "SGT Peppers' Lonely Heart Club Band". This CD and all of their other releases are proof that there was (and is) more to Booker T & the MGs than just "Green Onions."

The Band does no wrong . they were /are the best .My question is why put inferior live tracks on here .. when so much is missing? ..Aw Mercy , Plum Nellie (one of the most greasy distorted organ grooves of all time)Studio version of Red Beans And Rice ,Booker-Loo, One Mint Julep from the 'And Now' collection (this CD is very highly priced on Amazon should you want it for your collection).a couple more...Foxy Lady , Born Under A Bad Sign ,from Soul Limbo album , and 'The Beat Goes On' from 'Doin Our Thing' which is also fetching astronomical prices as I write this .. I am just scratching the surface here ..I look forward to the day when we get a really well thought out collection put together by someone who cares about the MUSIC .I was at The Stax -Volt Show in Manchester U.K. in 67' So I know ... As someone who loves the Beatles I looked forward to receiving this. I enjoy it, the only issue is that some of the songs are like out-takes, etc from recording sessions. Not that it is bad, but with some of the tunes, I just want to hear the song as I recall them. No reflection on the seller or product, I just didn't read what it was.
