Once again The Slats have given us a great album. They have taken their signature guitar skronk and mixed it with a indie hip hop flavor. Anyways it's definitly something different from one of Minneapolis' best bands. My favorite tracks are "King of Hawaii" "Bash the Plastic" "Boom Patrol" "Call My Telephone". This is definitly a band that deserves to be heard. Be sure to check their all time best album "pick it up". [...]

If you wanna get in a good mood, get this CD. It's got everything! I don't know what that other reviewer was thinking. This CD is perfect for dancing, working out, and especially driving. Sure, it has a "few" cheesey lyrics, but doesn't every single song out there? We're talking beat, baby. This other listener is obviously NOT a techno lover. Just an imposter.

Travoltas I only knew the Travoltas from some songs and small hits (the awesome "Waimea") in the Netherlands and found this CD for $2 in a store. But it's worth more than that. Granted, the Travoltas are not original. Their music sounds like Green Day, Weezer, the Offspring, Goodbye Charlotte but with a little Beach Boys chorusses thrown in. The 60's feature much in the music anyway. Some of the choruses and verses could have been in a 60s pop tune, but now with nowadays rock instrumentation. The synthesizes is a great added touch. One thing that has to be said in favor of them is that they don't sound at all like a continental European band. Highlights are the opening song 'Sugarride' and 'Do It Again' and 'Break Out' with a cool intro that will stick. ... Read More

While this will be of great interest to Ka-Spel and LPD fans, a casual listener may not be too appreciative. I would recommend starting with Eyes China Doll or Laugh China doll, which are available on CD on the Down In The City of Heartbreak and Needles set. Otherwise, this disc is a great collection of Edward Ka-Spel's earlier work.
