when this cd was released in september 2000, it was the best of its kind. naked music had only done 2 cds then and the tracks that were on this cd had never appeared on any cd. this is no copycat cd it was an original, and what is better than any naked cd is that it has variety of sound for example the king britt wonderful song happiness. even after 2 years, i can listen to this cd over and over, without it feeling stale. the test of a true classic!

Does anyone know who the Cavedogs were?? I think I am one of the few who found their music truly excellent. I am very surprised that they never gained popularity, especially with the whole "grunge" scene that was taking place at the time. The dogs were easily as good as the Screaming Trees or Soundgarden, they had their own sound, which rocked, some great guitar work, and a great singer. Maybe some people will remember Boy In A Plastic Bubble, which was the only song I ever heard played on the radio, and I think I may have heard it twice. That was enough to get me interested in the band though, and I'm glad I bought this album. Like I said, the Cavedogs have their own sound, so it's hard for me to make comparisons to other bands for reference. They sound a little like the Screaming Trees, ... Read More

Okay, I loved the first Riverdales record. Sure, there was no way it could have been as good as the early, perfect, Ramones records, but it was a truly fun tribute that for the most part captured the reasons why we love the Ramones. Some of the songs (Rehabilitated, Plan 13) even carried that "dark lyrical content masked by fun energy and mood" thing that made the Ramones so great in the first place.

But this one, sure it sounds like the Ramones what with the three chord buzzsaw guitaring and all (like their last album, a lot of these songs are made up entirely of A, D, and E), but what happened to the song writing? About a third of this record sounds like school yard chants. Don't believe me? Look:

This crazy CD is easily TOP quality over all the post-Obscured by clouds material. I mean, Dark isde of the moon is just plain horrible, wish youwere here is a drag, Animals is fake punk rubbish and The Wall is easily the worst album in the world together with Stills Young band Long may you run and Bruce Springsteen's The River oh yes and everything by Eric Clapton is also bad.

Unless you are really into Pink Floyd's most avant garde stuff (Atom Heart Mother and the Ummagumma studio album), you are unlikely to listen to this more than a couple of times. It gives only a little bit more insight as to what Pink Floyd would become. The other soundtrack albums from that period (including the often-overlooked Zabriskie Point) do much better in this regard. It has almost absolutely nothing in common with the material he wrote after The Dark Side of the Moon. If you are a Pink Floyd completist, go ahead and get it, but you will probably find that it compares with Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports as the least important Pink Floyd solo album.
