I own most all of the songs on this CD on a doulbe album (vinyl) performed mostly live and the first time I heard him "do the blues" I was overcome by his ability to bring the listener into the song. His mostly acustic (folk type) blues have political and social themes as well as spritual and humorous life experiences of his time and yet they are as true today as they were when I first listened to his brilliant way of talking about life. I began listening to him in the mid-60's and have never heard anyone that touches my soul with music like only Josh White can do. If your not familiar with his music and you like blues, I highly recommend you give him a listen. This CD has a great cross section of his style and songs!
