This is a 2 CD set of 9 to 12 minute High Energy Megamixes or "Medleys". The Medleys feature one Artist or Group each. The recording, music and mixing are great. I rated this 3 stars because THE VOCALS ARE NOT BY THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS. This was the only thing that I was disappointed with. Made in Australia.

There are some lovely, plangent melodies in this opera and although it doesn't have the thrust and drive of "Cavalleria" and is something of a plot clone, it is very appealing, especially when performed as well as this. It is much more gentle and wistful in mood, relying heavily upon sinuous, soaring string lines and a dark, brooding orchestral colours - Mascagni was always a master orchestrator. He wrote seventeen operas in all, and apart from his one great, lasting triumph, only "L'Amico Fritz" hovers around the periphery of the operatic repertoire. This one seems like the most likely candidate for revival.

My apologies to previous Amazon.com reviewers, but the excellent Jospeh Wolverton sounds nothing like Bjorling - nobody does! I agree with the Amazon.uk reviewer that there ... Read More

A great party CD containing remakes of disco classics from the 70's & 80's. You will recognize all of these songs if you went to the clubs in the late 70's.

There are NOT 2 tracks of each song on this CD, Just the accompaniment track, and no lyrics sheet. SO you better know the song well before you try to sing it with the track! Very disappointing. The Background vocals on some of the tracks are overpowering. (bye Bye Blackbird) and intrusive. I wanted to use this with my kids choir, but will not be able to now, with no sample track for them to listen to since many are unfamiliar songs to kids.

The tracks are good and this set contains a wide variety of songs from a ton of shows BUT without the sheet music for every song, don't expect to be able to learn them. A few are self explanatory (like when to come in etc.) but most would require at least a count of the bars before you sing and musical interludes etc. It's all tracks and nothing else. Not for anyone unfamiliar with the songs.

Not the original artists. Very weak versions of beloved songs by marginal to downright bad vocalists.
