"The Best of Savage" is much better than expected, unfortunately there is no songs from "Hyperactive" (Stevies Vengeance), but most of it is wonderful. All the tracks from "Holy Wars" (6-10) and "Babylon" (3-5) are great and the songs from "Loose 'n' Lethal" (11-15) are pure metal magic. Enjoy it since this is a rare potion.

Ah, Beautiful Midnight by the Matthew Good Band...not a day went by in 1999 when you didn't hear at least one of this album's singles playing on Canadian radio or Much Music. There's a good reason for that by the way...Canadian Content regulations! By law, Canadian radio stations must play 35% Canadian music, or else risk getting a huge fine from the government or even losing their broadcasting liscence. The Matthew Good Band is one of those bands that are played constantly on the radio not for talent, but to simply meet the CANCON regulations and allow the radio station to stay out of trouble with the federal government. Like most sound effects CDs marketed to the general public, this one is of fairly low quality. The sounds are generally inconsistent, poorly recorded, and not very useful. It's fairly obvious that they were compiled from various other sources, rather than being recorded specifically for this release. If you need sound effects for an extremely amateur film, and you have absolutely no budget, this CD might be useful. I can't recommend it for anything other than that, though. You can download samples of comparable quality for free, or create much better recordings with a good microphone, free software, and a modicum of technical knowledge.
