This woman once again proves to the younger musicians and everyone else willing to listen: Age is just a number and experience counts for everything. She pulls lyrics form some of the great including Annie Lennox! And holy mother og pete's christ can this woman sing! I saw her live and this album does a pretty nice job of pulling off her live sound. It is so raw and gritty like best Stax records were. Don't hesitate appreciate and buy this album.

This was (almost) as good an album as "Call Me" and "Let's Stay Together". The hit singles "Love and Happinerss", "Oh, Pretty Woman" and the title track helped make this one of Al Green's strongest sellers and a highlight of early-'70s Soul. The only song on this CD which can be labeled a near-miss is "For The Good Times" as it just doesn't hold up in comparison to the album's other tracks.

On the down side the Sound Quality is pretty decent, but you have to understand these wasn't recorded in the best of studios, and through the years Original Masters have been lost, or Recorded Over (Back in the day), so in some cases Secondary/Back Up/Mono Mixed Masters have surfaced up. The Brits probley worked with the best possible sources made available to them. This project starts with Al's very first (And overlooked until he became popular, then reissued) album with Hi Records: "Green Is Blues" that ranks among his best early projects that spawned NO Hit Singles, but a very enjoyable set that includes: "One Woman", "I Stand Accused", "Gotta Find A New World" The James Brown flavored "Get Back Baby" & a soul ...
