Classic sound and approach, they went back to their roots....and it's amazing. This CD sounds like time stood still, the only thing is the production is a bit too good, but other than that, a really strong CD by one of the altime greats. CHeck out the new Quicksilver SixStringVoodoo CD in May as well, these bands are touring together and you will be amazed at how good the Quicksilver release is!

I recently purchased Del Shannons "Home & Away" as a gift. I have since listened to many of the tracks and was overwhelmed - just fantastic. If you are a Del Shannon fan I recommend this set of CD's. The additional material provided is also terrific and despite the reasonably high cost of purchase it is worth every cent. It was so tragic that this great performer passed away so young.

The Album 'Nocturama' wasn't the greatest of Nick Cave's career and needed a couple of listens before it made this Nick Cave fan not want to hurt someone. Once I got used to it, it was great, especially the fifteen minute 'Babe, I'm On Fire' which was cut down terribly for this single. 'He Wants You' remains much the same as the album version, still a nice piano piece. 'Little Ghost Song' is not an earlier version of 'Right Out Of Your Hand' as one reviewer suggested, but rather a mix-up of the music from 'Still In Love' and the vocal tracks of 'Right Out of Your Hand'. That's why it sounds a little disjointed and why the title seems odd. The Nick Cave site says: Of Little Ghost Song, Nick Cave says "[it] was a happy accident in the studio, where the slave reels misaligned and began playing some elements of ... Read More

A great album and worth every penny namely for the last track - there's a reason it's 14 minutes long, give it a listen (not to sell short the other tracks, many good songs here). To all the reviewers writing monologues, you're covered in this song - "Babe you're on Fire".

Like other reviewers here, I was disappointed that North America was not included in this tour; now, knowing what I missed, I'm practically devastated! Here it is -- the world's greatest band performing their own greatest music. Disc to disc, start to finish, it's a tour de force on every level: the performances, the sound, the video, and of course the music. With a heavy emphasis on live performances of songs from Abattoir Blues/Lyre of Orpheus, it's gripping, emotional, and (since the live band was fully instrumented, including the original gospel singers who performed on the studio records) jaw-droppingly satisfying.
