This guy is just too much! What a voice, I just really think he is my long lost cousin from the backwoods of Tn. Just a good old boy with simple needs and wants. He will touch your soul with the kindness of a relative that loves you and the world around us. At the same time HC knows how to rock a country tune.

these guys r just teenagers but they sound like a cross of the Clash, the Ramones and the Sex Pistols. and they bring REAL PUNK back in the mix. this cd makes Good Charlotte and Simple Plan look like absolute idiots! these kids know what real punk is about! if u like the raw street sounding punk pick this up! and if u can find it their new cd too. these guys will get popular someday and will still BLOW peoples minds with this little thing called PUNK ROCK! modern punk and pop punk will die and these guys will be one of the bands to bring back the OLDER sound of punk once again!

I just wrote a response to someone for a Waits album in which their pop sensibilities wouldn't allow them to get past the way that his voice sounds;I think that a version of the same thing's happening with this album.Waits fans don't seem to be open to other people singing his songs because they sing without the same "soul" that he does.Yeah,Scarlet isn't a professional singer, but I don't think that's the main point either. She's rich, she wanted to do versions of Waits song, she got together an interesting band, and got the album done.I never saw a bunch of hubbub about her going out on tour or anything for this;it wasn't made to make money but as an experiment I think--and it's an interesting one at that.

The first thought that I had after listening was that it was like a disc in ... Read More

I am one of the many Ramones fans who favor their earlier material over the work of their later years. With that bias considered, I am surprised to find myself really enjoying this compilation. True, many of the recordings are so Studio-Clean that they lose some of that unique vintage Ramones flavor, but this is still some really good music.

The highlight for me is their cover of a song from The Doors' first album, "Take it as it Comes." This is one of the songs that critic Everett True bashed in his biography on The Ramones; all I can is while I thought True did a great job on their bio, I believe he is dead wrong on this tune. Joey Ramone's vocals alone make this one of the sweetest cover songs I have ever heard.

Another really great cover is "I Don't Want to Grow Up," written by the hubby & ... Read More
