Sorry, I have to say this, the first review I see looks as if the writer put a lot of thought into it, but refers to Vincente Minnelli as Liza's "infamous father." It's really perfectly OK to use an ordinary and useful word like "famous." I trust this was a typo and the writer actually does know what "infamous" means (and really knows Vincente wasn't).

I bought this CD based on the reviews and the way the CD was labeled (it sounded "swingy"). I'm a swing dancer, but I also love most kinds of jazz. I hated this CD. It doesn't swing very much, the vocals are odd, and the arrangements are uninspiring.

I purchased this CD, played it, and discovered that what I was listening to didn't match the CD sleeve; Track 2 and Track 7 were switched. I contacted the publisher and was told they were aware of the error. They said that later shipments of the CD contained a corrected contents list. If it is there at all, the printing error should not deter any potential buyer from purchasing this very fine recording. If need be, just get out your pen and fix the sleeve. :) Track 2 on the CD actually is "A Christmas Flourish," arranged by Randol Alan Bass. It is a choral medley of "Shiloh," "Joy To The World," "Silent Night" and "Angels We Have Heard On High." Track 7 on the CD actually is "Seasonal Sounds," also arranged by Randol Alan Bass. It is a choral medley of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," "Here Comes Santa ... Read More

This is a compilation CD that mostly includes performances by ensembles from America's top music schools. Four tracks list no affiliation to any music school whatsoever, and yet still somehow got themselves onto this CD. These four mystery tracks, together with five English-language tracks, make "Universidad Navidena" a strange choice for a CD title. In terms of content, the jazz vocal ensembles suffer from sloppy performances, awkward arrangements, and/or bad studio editing. (No telling how track #7 make it onto a commercial CD.) You'll waste time sifting through a strange mix of classical, jazz, bluesy, world beat, and overproduced pop tracks to find two or three tunes that you actually like.

Very professional performances from the Cleveland Institute, USC, and the Berklee Latin Ensemble ... Read More

RADIO CITY really does make christmas music like the days of yesteryear (1950's and 1960's). Along with their wonderful 2000 recording, RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR, this 1990 christmas cd (RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL PRESENTS SONGS OF CHRISTMAS) is as ever bit as great as their 2000 recording. It often sounds very traditional (often as if actually recorded in the late 50's or 60's, something the 2000 recording didn't do alot of {bear in mind that this means production wise, not style wise}). There is a wonderful orchestra and chorus and a couple of soloists that make up this cd.

Wonderful christmas songs that are real gems (usually/always in medleys) on this cd are WHITE CHRISTMAS, THE CHRISTMAS WALTZ, and two really, really superb medleys, one called A CHRISTMAS SLEIGH RIDE: that has JINGLE BELLS/SLEIGH ... Read More

I have been a fan of Andrae Crouch for years. The gift that God has given this man is extrordinary. This cd will bless the music lover. It is the essence' of Andrae. It is versatile! I love the big band selections. The song "It came upon a midnight clear" is wonderfully done. Sounds just like angels are really singing! The string intstrumemts will lull you into the presence of God.

Nothing mediocre here! Andrae has taken on the responsibility of making sure this GREAT BIG world hears his GREAT BIG praises to a GREAT BIG GOD!!

God bless you Andrae! What God has done for you, and what God is doing through you! Give it all back to Him!
