Charles Dutoit is an amazing conductor and has done a lot of good for Classical Music by leading the pack in utilizing CD as a medium [back when CDs were a new thing]. This is a broad CD collection, including some old war horses (Rite of Spring, Pictures at an Exhibition) as well as some lesser known French pieces (Les Biches). All the music is wonderfully recorded, interpreted, and played. However, what REALLY makes this set shine is the additional DVD featuring Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet" and "Classical Symphony." I assure everyone, it is worth purchasing for the DVD alone. The rest of the music is a great addition.

Never really cared for Mike Oldfield's previous works, I enjoyed Tubular Bells the song but not the Tubular Bells album. I own "The Best of" album but wasn't really inspired enough by that to purchase any of his other albums. So when I purchased "Music of the Spheres" I felt I was taking a real chance and might not enjoy it - fortunately I was wrong. Strong melodies are supported by orchestra and choir. It's like a sound track to a movie where they used only the most beautiful and melodic pieces. This is not Tubular Bells and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys beautiful orchestral music.

I heard this band on XM radio & had to have their CD. Some reviews stated this CD was not as good as their earlier CD's so I also purchased Let the Tempest Come, just in case. My husband and I both agree that Armamentarium is MUCH better.

I went to go see Drop Dead, Gorgeous on the Summer Bummer tour in late summer of 2006, this cd wasn't even on shelves yet, the Human Abstract was the opener. WHY were they opening and not headlining I have no freakin' clue.

They completely blew the other bands out of the water.

Apparently they had a four song 2005 demo which can be downloaded off of peer2peer programs and they had a different singer, thank god they got rid of him and enlisted Nathan Ells.

This band has completely technical guitar playing, there is deffinately a funky, I don't know....jazz influence with the bass player. The vocalist, oh man the vocalist, he is amazing. He can scream extremely well - one may ask how do you scream really well? if you were a vocalist you just might understand ... Read More
