What a wonderful collection of songs and what a combination of singers! I bought the DVD version from Korea because of Domingo. Yes, he is perfect, but this is the first time I have listened to and watched Hei-Kyung Hong. Exquisite is the first word I can think of. She delivers such emotion - you can see her enter another world for the song and dedicates herself to it. The bass, Youn, was unremarkable but did not detract from the overall performance. The selection of songs was superb. I think I have become an opera fan. Enjoy!

Tito Beltran is a good tenor, and perhaps in time may become an even better one. If his voice is to be swamped by such ridiculously loud orchestral overlays in future, then that is a pity, for like all singers he at least deserves to have a fair hearing.

Whoever has been responsible (or irresponsible) for this noisy orchestral nonsense should be sent for remedial treatment; his, her or their hearing must be even more shot than mine.

I admire Mr Beltran's strong, lyric voice and impassioned singing and would like to have heard more of it, without the too often intrusive, poor, inartistic, clumpy and pedestrian orchestral work.

I am a musician and listen to a lot of diverse music (from punk to classical, etc). This cd (I had the tape 20 years ago) has the best versions of these slower, popular, and beautiful songs. I've heard a lot of Mossonet's "Meditation" but this violinest is absolutely my favorite (I'm not sure who the player is - Isaac Stern?). I was so happy to find it on CD, as the tape was long gone, and every song is perfect.

I've been playing classical guitar for over 35 years, both as a professional and now as a hobby. Pepe's versions of Albeniz's song of Sevilla and Granada, on this recording, are the best I've ever heard. Pepe is the "best of the best" when expressing the soul of Spanish music. He was born in Malaga, Spain, which helps understand the sympathies and sensitivities he brings to the music on this album. He plays the music of a Granados, Albeniz and Tarrega with an inbred understanding. He plays his father's music as if he had written it. This album ranks as one of Pepe's best recordings. This album, plus the album of duets, entitled "Famous Spanish Dances",which he recorded with his brother Celin, are a MUST for any classical guitar enthusiast's library. Buy these recordings, if you can. They ... Read More

I just received this CD from Amazon.com. and I love it! As a pianist and classical music aficionado, and as a Cuban man, I am most pleased by Perogaro's interpretation of Lecuona's piano music. I was also relieved to receive this CD because I bought it with great trepidation after reading [some reviews]... Whereas...I do prefer the interpretations of Tirino and Brito, which are indeed more faithful to those of Maestro Lecuona, there is nothing in Perogaro's playing that deserves [a bad] comment... Perogaro flies to Cuban paradise with her playing of Lecuona, and she certainly will take you along with her. Buy this CD, I strongly recommend it!
