This is one of the most amazing albums I have heard. I misplaced it for a few months and missed it quite a bit. When I recently rediscovered it, it seemed even better than before! I have seen the band live and they are fantastic! This is a great album for people who think hard core punk is a little too hard and radio music makes you want to punch the radio.

despite what a lot of people are saying, this album is mad sin at its best. this album is pretty heavy, so that might be what turned a lot of people off. it has a lot of different sounds to it, but at its heart it is an amazing psychobilly album. If you like your music loud, fast and full of death, this is your ticket to the belly of the beast.

I will preface this by saying I have soaked up as much Buck65 as I could find in perhaps the last 3 years. Going so far as to get the likes of DJ Signify and pick up Josh Martinez.

I have never found the Buck65 cd that didn't immediately affirm my belief that he has more creative equity than almost every other artist and he throws out great narratives on geat songs... he's Bukowski, Cash and an old fisherman roled into one.

This cd however didn't imake the normal impression on me and I am frankly a bit disappointed. I have listened to it but once and it might be wiser to listen to it a few times as it might grow on me. But if it needs to grow on me it isn't the standard Buck65 fare as far as i am concerned.

As of Dec 29th the cd has grown on me and ... Read More

8.In Dust We Trust: Invisible Compilation 1997 by: Various Artists

In Dust We Trust starts out with a powerful version of X-Lover by Sheep On Drugs, which is by far one of the best remixes I have ever heard. This compilation is a very good example of what Invisible is all about. Songs by Test Dept, Pigface, Lick, Evil Mothers, and of course Martin Atkins help to make this one of my favorite Cd's to date.

Whoever said Shannon is like a "female version of Smog" is wrong. They have toured together, and share the same DIY approach to music (playing all the instruments yourself), but that's where the similarities end. Live, Shannon is absolutely in a rage, all a blur of flying red hair, and occasionally, a writhing mass on the floor, still wailing away on her guitar. Bill Callahan, on the other hand, is very reserved. You can't tell what Shannon is saying in her songs, and her lyrics are nonsensical, wheras when you hear Smog, the words are easy to hear and his writing is very simple and you know exactly what he is trying to put across with his words. Both are very nice to their fans though. I highly recommend seeing Shannon live. Get right up front.
