I am a huge ALW fan and I was really excited for this cd. I guess I didn't read the description close enough because only half (if that)of the songs on the cd are sung. I was hoping that there would be more songs sung by opera stars. Most of the tracks feature Julian Webber. Don't get me wrong, he is very good, but not what I was expecting. The cd is great, but would have been better with more singing!!

What a horrible CD! Now granted I only listened to ALW because I could not bring myself to see the other two trashed. Starlight Express is done without words, and while I can see that in many musicals not on Pumping Iron! The lady singing Evita sings worse than I do and believe me you do not want to hear me sing. The guy singing Music of the Night sounds like he is trying purposefully to scratch his voice and they really picked up the beat and added what sounds like an electric guitar (no its not the beautiful Michael Crawford version). I must end here. I can't say anymore, but Ladies and Gentlemen do not get this CD for your children. They will hate musicals if this is their first experience with it and be ultimately shocked if it isn't.

What could be finer than a brass band lustily belching out a few Lloyd Webber numbers? I know Jack about music but I know what I like, and we're talking quality here.

I like evita.I hate how highlights albums have unimportant songs rather than the main ones.I'm sure other people agree. This has the main songs done well! Also it has parts of songs in the middle of musical parts.I think it's cool.My dad bought it and I listen to it more than the others. Not to say it dosen't haveit's faults. The singer for another suitcase in another hall is well bad.It should include oh what a circus and rainbow high. Also
it dosen't include the complete song forms but the main ones.Che sounds like Antonio Banderes. It's overall good and worth it.

I am a die-hard "Original-Cast-only" person. So when I was given this as a birthday present (a month late) I was kind of skeptical. Yes, it has a wonderful score by Andrew Lloyd webber, and yes the Orlando Pops Orchestra is said to be really good, but it was a studio cast (a term that generally turns me off from asn album). I started listening to this expecting a horrid Eva, off-tempo music, and unrecognisable lyrics.

I was so wrong.

This is actually a surprisingly good Evita recording. Gail Bartell (Eva) does a very good job of portraying a determined Eva, but some songs could be better. Her voice tends to go slightly off at times, but she is mostly an applause-worthy performer (though her voice does not have the Broadway flair Patti LuPonne of the Premiere American ... Read More
