I am a massage therapist and use a variety of music as a relaxation tool for my clients. This CD is amazingly! It is like relaxing in a hammock on a Spring day and hearing wind chimes tinkling in the background. So very peaceful. Sometimes, I put this CD on repeat and play it all day as background music for myself. It makes for a most restful and relaxing atmosphere.

One of the best contemplative CDs I own!

This is an interesting overview of WW 2 from the British musical and historical perspective. Many of the songs will be unfamiliar to many on this side of the pond but the speeches and many of the songs still invoke the sentiments of the era. Book-ended by modern performances of WW 2 classical works, the Spitfire Prelude works well but a better choice for the end of the CD would have been either the Col. Bogey March or the Warsaw Concerto.

"Illuminate" is my first Azoic cd. I have always wanted to check out their music but that kept getting pushed back by other artists. I finally bought "Illuminate" not too long ago. I have to admit that "Illuminate" took some time to grow on me. Kristy Venrick's vocals had a tendency to sound a bit monotonous through out the cd. "Let Me Tell You Something" is evidence of just how monotonous her voice sounds. To be honest she sounded more like a man on this song. It's a catchy song but her voice is a bit flat and monotonous. Thankfully that is the one song where Kristy sounded like a man. I dug the bouncy synth beats of "Going Under". That song definitely has a good, bouncy club beat to it which makes it perfect to dance to. My personal favorite song has to be the title track. It has all the ... Read More

In 1996, Crucial Conflict first made headlines with their catchy single "Hay," and the following album, The Final Tic, somehow successfully managed to merge an Old West/hillbilly style with their Midwest gangsta rap. Although often labeled Bone Thugs-N-Harmony imitators for their rapid-fire deliveries, the quartet of Wildstyle, Never, Coldhard, and Kilo fared well critically and commercially, and returned in 1998 with the forgettable "Good Side, Bad Side." Crucial Conflict has flow for days, and they're talented rappers with great deliveries. Although they're all quite similar, they are fun to listen to. However, this sophomore effort has many problems. The lack of subject matter becomes immediately apparent, as they don't seem to have anything to rap about. The verses are generic, and most could ... I just purchased this set, and it was worth EVERY penny I paid for it. This is a wonderful look at our nations history. This was released originally on LP for American's bicentennial in 1975. Parts of this set actually brought me to tears. Absolutely beautiful!

Ed Gein can be considered a "conscious" band, if you will, and their powerful lyrics tell this well. The band takes very firm and passionate stances on their ideologies, and this is refreshing when so many songs these days are losing their meaning (at least lyrically) from being cloaked in useless poetic devices. I think that any liberal-minded and opinionated person would enjoy the frank nature of the lyrics, regardless of music genre preference. Musically, I think that it can be described as a throwback to the punk-influenced early days of grind. Very agressive, very fast, very brutal. The only downfall of this album is that, upon first listen, the songs all seem to blur together. I can definitely understand people's complaints about how "all the songs sound the same." However, after repeated listens, things clear ... Read More

These guys are more than your average pop band. Smoke is an exceptionally intellgent and well written album. Martin tries to be Dave Gahan but still pulls off credible vocals. Great percussion, guitars and synth sounds. Too bad they can't find an American label...great stuff!
