2.Rossini - La Cenerentola / Valentini-Terrani · Araiza · Dara · Trimarchi · Ravaglia · Schmiege · Corbelli · Ferro from: Sony Classical

I first acquired this set on LP from CBS Masterworks, and it dates from 1980. Lucia Valentini-Terrani is ideal as Cinderella, and Enzo Dara is her stepfather, Don Magnifico. Francisco Araiza is Prince Ramiro, and Alessabdro Corbelli is Dandini. The Cappella Coloniensis is conducted on this set by Gabriele Ferro, who also recorded "L'Italiana in Algeri" with Miss Valentini-Terrani. I love this set, as Miss Valentini0Terrni is the perfect Cinderella, and the finale of the opera, especially, ought to be on a fan's iPod as well. YOu won't go wrong buying this. One note: this recording uses original instrumentation, so you can hear for yourself what an orchestra would have sounded like in 1817.

The fourth album from the progressive jazz group A Triggering Myth is "The Sins of Our Saviours". This album brings a new aspect to the group, in the form of vocals on three of the tracks. What is not new is the use of guest musicians on their albums to supplement their sound. The group members are Tim Drumheller (keyboards, percussion, production), and Rick Eddy (keyboards, guitars, percussion).

The guests include Moe Vfushateel (drums, percussion) who has worked with ATM before, and Alessandro Bonetti (violin) and Alberto Piras (vocals) from Deus Ex Machina. The use of vocals on three tracks gives a completely new sound to the group, while the non-vocal tracks are more typical of the pieces on their other albums. However, even there, the group continues to grow and experiment. ... Read More

Saw Cash Money live in Athens Georgia last Spring. Amazing sound with what sounds like a mixture of Hard Rock, Country, and Blues all in one, coming from just 2 instruments. Can't wait for the next one! Keep up the good work Humphrey!

Starecase is made up of producers Paul Crossman and Al Watson, one of which is a solo artist/ dj called General Midi. Their CD can be described more as a brilliantly produced and programmed rather than being noted for great songwriting. What they lack in musical/ lyrical content can be made up for in their masterful experimental production. Then, I guess they should be compared more to the duo that is Deepsky. The one track with great lyrics and great programming is their first single "Faith." The other 8 tracks sway between 4-to-the-floor dance tracks and experimentally chilled break-beat compositions. It may get repetitive, but the concept and feel in some of the tracks is just right. "Come In" is my favorite. The bass is very inventive, and the mood of the track is very deep. But, some less than ... Read More

This woman once again proves to the younger musicians and everyone else willing to listen: Age is just a number and experience counts for everything.

She pulls lyrics form some of the great including Annie Lennox! And holy mother og pete's christ can this woman sing! I saw her live and this album does a pretty nice job of pulling off her live sound. It is so raw and gritty like best Stax records were. Don't hesitate appreciate and buy this album.
