Produced by the legendary Robbie Robertson from The Band should be enough to know this is going to be a great album. I have to admit to not knowing too many of Neil Diamond's albums as such, but like most people I know all of his hits. They could have almost released every song off this album as a single and they would have been hits. Standout tracks to me are of cause Beautiful Noise, Stargazer, If You Know What I Mean, Streetlife, Jungletime and the track he actually performed with The Band on the last waltz, Dry Your Eyes, which amazes me never got on any of his greatest hits albums.

If you're already familiar with Robin Wilson of the Gin Blossoms you know he has a voice that could calm a stormy sea. On this project he teams up with composer/producer/guitarist Steve French, and the result is nothing short of brilliant. Robin's voice is the perfect vehicle for Steve's soulful lyrics and tuneful melodies. This is actually one of a very small number of albums I can listen to on repeat for hours on end without ever getting bored. It's beautifully soothing, and the lyrics just wrap themselves around my heart.

Check out the Longshadows on MySpace for a taste of what you've been missing, then grab hold of the album. Virtually every track is a gem.
