Credit to the Eukahouse and Eukatech labels for managing such prolific output at a consistently high quantity. With a slew of releases in the past few years that have rarely disappointed, fans tuned to the steely sounds of the tech house rhythms can practically order each title on spec.

So Tech House Classics has label pedigree, Dave Mothersole at the helm for the mixing, and a bucket of good press write-ups on this, an early 90's grouping of tracks bridging acid house and techno. Now Hot Lizard's `The Theme' does deliver the mind-dance moment expected from a compilation labeling itself as Classic. Yet It's arguable that listeners new to the scene will find much to connect with here. The 303 squiggles and heavy bass suit a loud club environment more so than newer, crossover offerings. ... Its been 30 years since first hearing Dory Previn - I've gotten older, but probably not grown up very much. Finding (on Amazon)the CDs of the LP albums and the even rarer cassette albums, was like going home - manna. I can take Dory only in short doses - in solitude - and when I'm not going to have to talk to anyone for a couple hours. Soon I'm going to take a vacation and spent one whole day listening and recovering and the next day re-entering and looking forward to the next session. Thanks Amazon.

Don't miss this incredible Brooklyn-based group when they play in NYC; excellent fusion of modern and classical showing that new young composers really know their stuff! What a difference a real love for the music and an "understanding of the music" makes for people who perform. Long way from the sixties with it's blasting rock 'n roll. God save us all. Love it. Don't miss it!

8.Music of the Spheres by: Mike Oldfield

Never really cared for Mike Oldfield's previous works, I enjoyed Tubular Bells the song but not the Tubular Bells album. I own "The Best of" album but wasn't really inspired enough by that to purchase any of his other albums. So when I purchased "Music of the Spheres" I felt I was taking a real chance and might not enjoy it - fortunately I was wrong. Strong melodies are supported by orchestra and choir. It's like a sound track to a movie where they used only the most beautiful and melodic pieces. This is not Tubular Bells and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys beautiful orchestral music.

Patrick Forgas is a french composer well known of jazz-rock fans. But here, the music is different from what he used to write on his previous works and leans towards ambient à la Synergy (see my review for 'Electronic realizations for rock orchestra') or Tangerine Dream, with repetitive motifs reminiscent of Glass' minimalism or Carla Bley's music. The music is not only based on the use of keyboards, but also on the use of percussions, revealing Patrick's jazz background. This album deserves to be listened to and can easily be compared to the best rated albums of ambient music. For people who like Jordan Rudess'solo albums, Robert Fripp's soundscapes (circa 'A blessing of tears')or even Jan Garbarek's solo work, this is a must that you won't regret to have purchased. Listen to it with your heart !!!
