First of all, I'm not a die-hard Jaco fan. Hell, he isn't even in my personal top 10 list. So my reason for giving this 5 stars is not "because it's Jaco"; it's because this package contains a WEALTH of bass knowledge and exercises designed for the non-beginner, jam packed into a 36 page book and single CD. The contents of this book/CD package were directly taken from the video edition of the same title. But the book/CD stands alone as a separate product; you DO NOT need the video to make sense of it. In fact after I bought this, it was still years before I got to see the video. I recieved this DVD for my birthday and I was completely blown away. I have seen the Flaming Lips in concert, but this was WAY better. I loved how they mixed interviews and backstage footage with live footage. How could I have missed this amazing concert? I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this DVD to any FLips fan, or just anyone who wants to see the greatest concert on the planet made possible by the greatest band on the planet.

On the album liner of Cilvarings' 1 is a disclaimer basically stating that guests appearing on the album do not necessarily agree with the political views stated by Cilvarings. This originally turned me away from purchasing this CD. I didn't want to be preached at by another uninformed musician about everything that is wrong with America, This and the fact that I was completely disappointed by the Wu Tangs 8-Diagrams debacle. I did a little research on Cilvarings and learned he is a Wu Tang affiliated MC from the Netherlands and of Moroccan decent, so I figured maybe he actually has something to say from a different perspective. I only hope that others can keep an open mind and give this up and coming killer bee a chance, you won't be disappointed. Production on the album is handled ... Read More

I am desperately searching for this on CD but I have listened to this album on cassette about five hundred times! To me it is Italian-ness defined.

I caught Neri Per Caso on a live Italian satellite broadcast while surfing the music channels. Since it was all in Italian, I couldn't tell what the title of the tune that I joined in progress, but their stellar harmony stopped me in my tracks. Their subsequent number was Amore Psicologico, which allowed me to track it down through CDFlash, an Italian music site. There are a handful of tracks from each of their previous albums, and the wall of sound that they create raises the hair on the back of my arm when I find the 'sweet spot' between the speakers. Back in early 2002, it was cheaper through Italy, now it's cheaper through CDNow.

L.A. Woman is my favorite Doors compilation, which is why it grieves me to have to give it a 4-star instead of a 5-star rating. This bluesy collection is Morrison at his best with greats like Changeling, Hyacinth House, Been down so long & the fabulous title track. I also enjoyed the bonus track Orange County Suite. The reason I gave this compilation a 4-star is because of the last track. You see it's very simple...no Morrison-no Doors period. I feel they could have found any a number of tracks done by Morrison to complete this set and I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I want to hear his voice and only his voice when I'm listening to the Doors! That's just the way it is with me. So, minus the last track I would give this CD a 5-star rating in a heart beat. It's classic ... Read More
