There is not much to say about his album except you should get it! 'Southern Discomfort' is one of my favorite albums of the hundreds that I have. This and 'Graffiti the World', are Rehabs best showings. Must agree with the other reviewer that mentioned the flow of this album, its fantastic. You will find yourself laughing out loud at some of the lyrics and singing to others. It would not be fair of me to compare 'Rehab' to any other artists, because they are so original. Their composition and content sounds like no one else. Well, there you have it my $.02, take it for what its worth, but once you go to 'Rehab' you will continue to go back!

Allison sitting looking cold on a pile of rotting wood, looking like she had been crawling around on the ground, in a TOTALLY unhip pair of rubber galoshes and earmuffs.
...and then next be in a pair of 7" heeled platform shoes or tight shiney skirt and full make-up the next night.
Only in the EU-here-the 'hip' wouldnt get caught dead in such clothing -much less being out in nature-its just not "WITH-IT" or cool!
On the felt Mountain insert she looks sexy even in her camping gear
from cool smoky caberat-to the dancefloor to peace and love in the woods

Hot on the heels of two acclaimed studio albums, the trio of Geoff Barrow, Adrian Utley and singer Beth Gibbons toured the United States and in doing so worked with an orchestra and horns for a live release.

It is often thought that electronic music is difficult to capture outside a studio, but "Live: Roseland NYC" is at the very least an exception. Whilst many critics have said Portishead's releases are too similar to each other, a good listen to "Live: Roseland NYC" with reveal a great many surprises about how Portishead adapt their songs to a concert setting. Contrary to what some might expect all the samples of their studio work are present, notably on "Only You" where they are used to create a crescendo effect in the middle of the song.

I am 18 and I just discovered Massive Attack last year. I really liked Portishead and Tricky and thought Trip-Hop was a very interesting musical genre. But it was not until I heard Blue Lines that I understood what Trip-hop was all about. It amazes me that this album is from 1991 because it sounds much more modern and (dare I say) fresher than anything today. The rap anthems, Five Man Army and Blue lines are amazing in their arrangements and slow motion rapping. THIS is what trip hop is all about. It's not suppose to be depressing, it's suppose to be relaxing.

Just buy it and listen for yourself! Highly recommended.

(Note: I'm a huge fan of this band and my beef has nothing to do with the music.)

How much would you, dear fan, pay for two new songs from your favorite band? Does $22 sound right? Unfortunately, that is the going price of this Greatest Hits, a collection containing even fewer tracks than 2003's Singles 93-03. Billed as "DJ only, ten ultra-rare Electronic Battle Weapon tracks", the bonus disc seems promising until you put it in and find that the majority are demo mixes of previously released material such as "It Doesn't Matter", "Under the Influence", "It Began in Afrika" etc. - and these all sound fundamentally the same as the original versions! In defense of this disc, the new tracks are really good, particularly "Keep My Composure", a collaboration of the Chem's sexy, soul tearing bass, arpeggiated ... Read More

Wow. Just about perfect in every sense of the word. Beats are awesome, rapping is awesome (as usual for Del!). The music is very eclectic and the whole album has a cyberpunk/sci-fi theme to it. Recommended for any fans of underground hip-hop, sci-fi and anybody who loves good music!

I HAVE MANY MAXIVE ATTACK AND PORTISHEAD CDS, I BOUGHT TWO TRICKY CDS; MAXINIQUE AND PRE-MILLINEUM. MAXINIQUE IS THE ONE TO HAVE. IT CONTINUES THE MELLOW THEME OF HIS PREVIOUS COLLABORATIONS. I'D STAY AWAY FROM PRE-MILLINEUM, IT'S DOES SOMETHING TO TRICKY'S VOICE THAT CAN START A HEADACHE...SOME OVER OR UNDER SYNTHESIZED NOISE.

The first time I ever heard one of Royksopp's songs, it was "Poor Leno" on the snowboarding videogame SSX 3. I liked it, but didn't feel like hunting down the CD. Then, like so many other people here, I saw the Geico commercial, and fell deeply entranced by "Remind Me". Ravenously, I hunted down the album and purchased it.

After listening to the CD a couple times, I felt a bit let down. "Remind Me" and "Poor Leno", which I was already familiar with, were naturally my favorites. The rest of the music just seemed like background noise. Luckily, that impression didn't last.

It takes multiple sessions of listening to the album to come to grips with just what Royksopp is doing with their music. Only after the initial unfamiliarity with the tracks dissolves, can you truly see what a great virtuoso band Royksopp ... Read More
