One of my favorite things to do on Amazon is to type in bands that I know I love, and see what else comes up in that category...in this case I believe I was looking for Manu Chao and Pacha Massive was recommended...after reading the reviews I decided to give it a shot. I am so glad that I did!!! What an awesome disc! Rarely am I so pleased with a new purchase by an artist that I've never heard...this one gets better every time I hear it. On first listen, the opening track "Don't Let Go" is so strong it instantly became my new favorite song...the rest of the disc initially didn't hold up to that power, but the more I listen, the more I appreciate the scope of talent and range that this disc offers. I love it, I highly, highly recommend it!

I love the mixes on this album. Perfect for dinner parties or evening cookout. Listen to it on your veranda and chill to the jazzy beats of mixed in old back in the day artist and new up to date jazz tunes. LUV it.

This is an impressive, ephemeral soundtrack that captures the haunting, brightly lit, and even whimsical horror of the movie. I listened to the soundtrack long before I watched the film and was very surprised to find that after watching the film, the music had elicited many of the same emotional responses in me as the film later did. It's rare when a soundtrack communicates as much as this one does. Air superbly navigates the territory of teenage girlhood with tracks like Playground Love, which blends electronic strains of music with subdued vocals to create a wistful, beautiful tapestry. Only about a third of the tracks can stand on their own as singles, the rest are better listened to together, in one sitting, to get the full affect. In Heaven is a terrible track, period. There are some solid tracks, but the album is weighed down by too much repetition. After listening to about 2 minutes of a track like Gangster Trippin' I'm ready for the next track. Trim the fat and you might have something. Give this one a pass, or just get the decent tracks (Rockafeller Skank, Praise You).

If you like drum and bass this is a CD worth having. It has a wide variety of artist and the mixing in my opinion is very good. Some of it is down tempo but that doesn't spoil the flow of the mix. Well worth a spin in your CD player.

There are 2 things I especially love about this CD. One is the sampling from the original SNES "Super Mario World" soundtrack in "Modular Mix." I wonder if anyone else ever caught that. I kept thinking that something sounded familiar in that song, but I couldn't place it. Then one day I was skimming the liner notes and saw the Mario doll in their studio! "Of course!" I said aloud as I smacked my forehead. It all fell in place then. That's pretty awesome. The other is "Les Professionnels." Having already owned Moon Safari when I purchased this CD, it was a pleasant shock hearing the beginnings of the tantalizing "All I Need" in this collection. The first 5 tracks alone would have made this a 5-star album. That has already been said. They are all beautiful and a joy to listen ... Read More

I'm a hip hop fan first, so I found this when I was looking for good beats from the likes of Pete Rock and DJ Shadow. This CD blew me away. It has a very gentle sound that underwhelmed me at first, but then punched me in the face with its absolute beauty. The first track Les Nuits is very cool, with a very serious bassline moving the listener in and out of a building symphonic string melody that sounds like the soundtrack of a very profound movie. Morse follows, another standout track which breaks into the fun side of Nightmares on Wax. The bass is very upbeat, and synthesizers complement this perfectly until you reach the female vocals, which brings the song to a whole new level of sound. Now you are ready for what's coming.
