This guy is the bomb! When he's mellow, he's evocative like Nora Jones; when he's rockin' he's kickin' like Joe Cocker. I love this album. (Check out 'Trouble' too!)

It was with "Freewheelin'", his second album, that Bob Dylan established himself as a great songwriter. Featured are all-time classics like "Blowin' In The Wind", "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall" and "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright". But some lesser known gems, such as "Bob Dylan's Dream", are also included. "Masters Of War" is at an anti-war song with Dylan at his most venomous and "Girl From The North Country" is one of his most beautiful romantic ballads. This is a young, idealistic Dylan playing raw, stripped down folk music. But with witty, perceptive and extremely sardonic lyrics that take it to a whole new level. To see the glorious roots of the best songwriter of the last 50 years there is no better place to start than here.

I happened to have seen them, live, in Omaha, NE, and I was unaware of this album. I checked a few clips, and remember some of the songs They are mesmerizing. Their style is what it is. Eclectic for sure, but their own. Not outstanding, but excellent.

Amos Lee is fabulous. He has the most soulful voice, great lyrics, a wonderful band, and is not bad to look at either!! I recently saw him in concert at Workplay, and he was amazing. The entire audience was mesmerized. Every song on this CD, as well a his other releases, is either a 4 or a 5 star song. I have all his releases on my ipod, and have not found one song that I don't like. Soulful, romantic, beautiful, lovely voice, and lovely man!

Was flipping through a page for Bruce Dickinson's solo albums and I found this in the "related" section, so I had to drop in here quickly and give my two cents. Anyways, when I first heard this album, it was my first Waits album, and it was very different! Yet I inevitably loved it, his voice was very unique and easy on the ears. Great lyrics too, something I've never heard before as well. Just the opening lines of "Singapore" was enough to get me hooked. Downtown Train is definitely my favorite song on the album on here, and some other great classic tracks include Gun Street Girl, Clap Hands, Diamonds and Gold, and Blind Love. He's definitely better than a lot of the crap we hear on the radio and TV nowadays. So anyways, if you want something different, be sure to give Waits a try, ... Read More

Best career retrospective of Elton. He is in fair voice. He no longer attempts the high notes. I wish the voice in his Barcelona concert were here. But the Barcelona concert leaves out some major songs. This has everthing. The vintage videos give you Elton in prime voice though only fair to good sound.

Being that I am a huge fan of this man my review may be a little bias. James Morrison is definetly one of the greats in making. This album is not too deviated from the style of his first album a lot soulful heart felt melodies. It almost seems like part 2 or a continuation of the first album. So if you liked his first album then you are sure to enjoy Songs for You, Thruths for Me.

The Jack's smooth voice and his music, simple and pleasant, can be addictive. In fact, I bought all the other Jack's albums after hear this vinyl. It's a very good album, it isn't pretentious and that is indeed what attracts. Everyone needs Jack after a hard work day.
