They dont call him the Boss for nothing. Bruce Springsteen makes great rock music for middle America. People are always going to complain that there are tracks missing, these people are true fans and probably already own all the albums...to this I say make your own greatest hits cds on your computer. However to fans that are casually into Bruce Springsteen this is a great cd packed with well known songs. For my two cents Glory Days is the best song on the album followed by Secret Garden. Even if you are not a big rock fan this album is worth your money.

This is one of Neil Young's best -- if NOT the best. If the listener can 'get past' his whiny voice, it's a winner!!!

This is a great album. By far his best work since Left of Self-Centered. I love Butch, his lyrics are very personal and you feel like you're getting into his soul in this album. The slower numbers on this album, especially ATL and Passed Your House really drive that point home. I gave it 4 stars only because I put Left of Self-Centered and the Marvelous 3 disc ReadySexGo in my Top 5 rock albums of ALL TIME. Everything else pales in comparison, but excellent album, nonetheless.

I think that this is so much better than the film score. I have tastes for most kinds of music and after seeing the musical I appreciate the music more. I love the songs "Shadowland", "Endless Night" and both "They Live in you" you get a feel for the characters more. Definitly worth buying!

Gone now are those marvelous guitar solos, charged with energy yet seemingly effortlessly controlled as, for instance, the Basel live version of "Sultans of Swing". But still very apparent in this CD is the ability to tell a story in a song and to express emotion on the guitar. Knopfler has moved on, and although the youthful energy is no longer there, his art has not diminished, and that puts him in another league from any other musician that I know. The quality of the music is toned down but still very apparent. Some of the story songs are certainly by comparison to his classic stuff a bit quaint - like "The Scaffolder's Wife" and "Secondary Waltz" - and they are not the stuff that invites listening over and over again. Bridge over Troubled Water is just one of those albums that just feels so damn complete. One after another, this album boasts quite some variety, especiallly considering that this album is folk based. Folk based just has that natural, organic sound, and variety in that is just great. Nick Drake knew that, and it seems that Simon And Garfunkel know that as well. Plus, the music on this record is just dang good, period. Not just an acoustic guitar and a guy moaning, there is a variety of sounds in this record, and it can be very melodic. Yeah, it is catchy, but more than catchy. The melodies draw you in to Paul's Simon's pretty cool lyrics (not lyrical rocket science, but they get the job done). Elton John has had MANY classic albums over the years, and that's why people remember him as the top 5 musicians of the 70's. The early days were really good too. While the western/country pop rock style of Elton John is one of the main things people note about Tumbleweed Connection, it should also be noted that despite sounding different from the pop rock commercial phase of Elton John's career (starting with the "Don't Shoot Me I'm Only the Piano Player" album) his typical style of piano pop on Tumbleweed Connection isn't really any different from any other song you've heard by Elton John.
