This CD is the best. I had this on tape many many years ago and it brought back such great memories I just had to have a CD. Buy this and you won't regret it. It will take you back to another place in time.

Formed in 1968, Crosby, Stills, and Nash combined classic rock and roll with a distinct folk sound to produce a very unique brand of music. Although the trio only recorded four albums together, they placed their mark on the American music scene that still remains today. Each member of the trio provides their own unique talent to the mix. Stephen Stills is excellent on "Suite Judy Blue Eyes" and the ever-popular "Southern Cross". I am a huge Bruce Springsteen fan, and have nearly all of his CD's, and I am still a huge fan, but I don't think this CD is one of his best. Don't get me wrong - Springsteen has a knack for telling stories about people who have been through hard times and who have been through the darkest parts of life, and he has a knack for making us feel these characters' pain, but, I think the tone of the music is too low keyed - it's almost as if the music on each track sounds the same. But, still worth listening to.

Awesome Todd Snider, I have been listening to Todd since about day one, and have seen him in concert a few times, i love his music, but on occasion have been disappointed a little in his published efforts, not this on though, I must have listened to it 10 times in a row before I moved on. It is great, it is also one of those albums that benifits from listening to the entire album, straight through, in the order it was intended. He does a couple of old standards, Cape henry, and some awesome covers, Fortunate son. The only disappointment I have is that it wasn't longer by about 10 songs, but that is usually how I feel about all of Todds albums, the guy is a modern day troubador!!!

Very soothing female singer-songwriter material... Alison Sudol plays a Tori Amos-styled piano, but in decidedly less bizarre fashion... pity she isn't given as much attention as Sara Bareilles or Colbie Caillat, when she's just as talented.

More of same - luckily I like Norah Jones. I wish she'd branch out and explore different musical styles...perhaps more serious collaborations with other equally talented musicians. I'd love to be actually listenting to her rather than just having her as pleasant background music. She could do more, but I'm happy to add this latest to my collection.

Some Amazon Reviewers say that the original hit versions are found elsewhere. Single versions, album versions, what do I know? I see that Donovan wrote every single song on this collection, and although he may have been looking back to "Atlantis", he was looking forward to "Zeppelin". Also to Bon Jovi? (Could "Blaze Of Glory" be a tribute to Mr. DL?). To Mark Bolan and T-Rex? That one goes without saying. Actually, names like Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck, and John Bonham do figure in the proceedings. Beautiful poetry set to tasteful arrangements. Bubble-gum Dylan? Why not? "Catch The Wind" is as good as "Blowin' In The Wind"! [I wonder if the Stan Laurel estate is aware of the album cover photo?].

fans of kd lang know by now what they are getting when she puts out a new cd. This is no exception: great songs, great production, sweet harmonies, and that awesome voice. Buy this!!

This is the best CD I've found in more than four years. The authenticity, the beauty, the depth, the emotion, the creativity. This is real music with heart. The melodies of Drown Out give me goose-bumps. The power of When Your Minds Made Up is ecstatic. The words of This Low are as moving as the best poetry. I haven't been able to stop playing this CD since it arrived today and I just can't believe how unknown it seems to be.
