10 to 15 mins of listening and I'm out cold for the rest of the night. I hit the repeat button and don't wake up until the alarm clock goes off. I have trouble staying asleep for more than two hours at a time and when I listen to this I have no problems. The delta waves in the background really help with winding my mind down.

I just bought this DVD last week and found it to be an effective meditation tool. Meditation is great way to get into mindfulness (or in another words be fully in the moment). The scenery on this DVD is beautiful and calming. Meditation gets you to slow down your thoughts and really teaches your mind what you choose to focus on in a positive light. A Day on Cape Cod: Summer Rain We had this CD years ago and it was lost. We use it for "white noise" when we sleep at night. It's a nice steady rain fall sound with no sudden noises such as thunder or loud chirping birds. If you use white noise to sleep by, I highly recommend this recording!

Chrysalis is a much calmer more evenly executed offering from 2002. There are no vocals, which makes it perfect for meditation, Reiki, and even yoga class. Love this departure from their others in my collection.

The complilation on this CD was nice. Sometimes the music was a bit slow. However, I like music with a bit more rythym for Sun Salutations/vinyasas, after the 1st quarter of the CD. It is a nice CD for small gatherings as well.

I'm excited about this CD, "SONGBIRDS AT SUNRISE". So is my cat. She loves to hear the birds chirping and I love the soothing background music. When I ask her if she wants to "hear the birdies" she jumps up onto my lap and we both are eventually swept off to dreamland for a while. So relaxing. One of the best of the many compositions that Dan Gibson and his crew have done. Two others by Gibson that I have and like really well (as much as this one) are "GREAT LAKES SUITE" and "ATLANTIC SUITE." When it comes to sprinkling stars on these CD's, I'd need the Milky Way for starters!

This is a great CD for a one hour vinyasa class (or practice at home). My class likes it and I find it fun and energizing.

As a child I had grown up traveling by train, listening to the clunk of the gangway closing, the conductor calling "tickets", the news butcher offering playing cards, snacks and candy, and of course the sounds of the train itself, getting underway, and traveling at speed with the occasional call of the whistle and the doppler of crossing gates slipping rapidly past the car window. I was hoping to return to that time with this CD, but it was not to be the case. There are the sounds of the train itself, but the distant diesel horn seems a bit too frequent, and overall, this train is much quieter and more pedestrian than is comfortable for me. As a sleep aid, it suffered near the end; I don't know if it's just this particular CD, or a problem with the burn, but toward the end, the sound of the train abruptly ceases ... Read More
