This was very different. It was rockabilly with some twists. The interlude between songs was the twist. I am glad I purchased it.

You already know the album - all those songs you never cared to listen to on the one side, and the ultimate EP heavy rock classic on the other - the first record side you totally wore out in college. You can't get that on iTunes - all they offer is the short radio cut and the very lame, overly long live version. No, if you want this bit of psychedelic mayhem on your iPod, friends, you'll have to rip it like I did. But once you do it's all groovy from there!

I bought the compilation for"No One to Depend On" snd found every cut worth while. The drumming is awesome and Greg Rolle(later of Journey) is great on the early tracks keyboards. This is the best of an iconic classic rock artist.

The Grateful Dead began their "long, strange trip" in San Francisco in 1965 (originally as "The Warlocks"). Of course, they later became a legendary jam band that filled concert stadiums and sold millions of albums. Their sound was a laid back and psychedelic mix of rock, folk, country, jazz, gospel and bluegrass that included extra long improvisational instrumental jams. Although reluctantly, singer and lead guitarist Jerry Garcia was seen as the face of the band by many fans. The group disbanded after Garcia's death at 52 from a heart attack in 1995. Other original members Bob Weir (guitar), Phil Lesh (bass), and Bill Kreutzmann (drums) also consistently stayed with the Dead for the duration. this cd gets away from the tired fm airplay and into some of the longer and more interesting songs

This cd is truelly this band's best, I wish they had migrated to Africa's BushBush after this, the world would have been a better Place. Bridges burning, mudman, the gold its in the, wots the deal, absolutely curtains all songs are among my favorites as they out shine the ugly Side of the moon album and the atrocious animals and the wall/ Denise Whitlock, aged 11

This has to be my favorite "music video" of all time. This is more David Lynchian than anything David Lynch has ever produced. It is such an odd episode in time, such a weird floating bubble of brilliance. It is a Festival of the Bizarre and the Hilarious. And, in my opinion, the music is superb. Approach this with the right expectations, and you will be dazzled!!! For starters, the colors are super-saturated, rich and deep reds and oranges and blues. It is a warm viewing experience. Every attendee is wearing a truly strange pull-over type robe with bright colors. Everyone is preternaturally happy and involved. The review title says it all, I bought this album reluctantly ( cow issues ) but two months later I still keep skipping to it on my Ipod, "Summer of '68" alone is worth the price of the album, buy it already!

I've known about this band for quite a while now, and I'm glad they're finally getting some response in the US. I wanted to buy their CD for my brother a while back but it wasn't available here yet, and import is expensive! So I'm glad to see it listed here now...I'll definitely be picking up a couple copies. If you like old-school rock in the veins of Zeppelin and the Who, you'll be hard pressed not to find something to like in this CD. Definitely, give it a shot.
