Ok, this is a conditional rating. If you are a Donovan fanatic, and I do mean a fanatic, consider this a 4-star film. If you own every album..on vinyl, have a Peace sign-shaped air freshner dangling gaily from your Prius, and can watch Billy Jack Goes To Washington without collapsing into apoplectic laughter, than you can probably listen, with rapt awe at three, very long hours of Donovan's love letter to himself, otherwise known as "Sunshine Superman: The Journey of Donovan", but anyone else is probably going to start questioning the existence of God about 20 minutes in. If you are a Hendrix fan or just a fan of the Woodstock event from the sixtes, this is a must have. There are 2 DVD'x with this package. There is a tremendous amount of footage. The audio is excellent. The movie is shot right at the stage level. The focus is Jimi,his current band and the lucky but tired looking people that were allowed on stage. Note: is is important that you read the reviewers statments on how they put the footage together. Not an easy task. But it works!

Good movie - songs are from the Viet Nam era and the movie depicts the aftermath of college students of that era. I am one of them.

The Monkees have been packaged and re-packaged so much that it is sometimes quite baffling to figure out where to start when trying to track down a good "greatest hits" package without taking a great hit in the bank account. Well, the look is over. This 20 song collection captures what made the group a hit machine, with some nice tidbits in the mix. Granted, the foursome was a corporate creation, but it cannot be denied the immense pop culture impact they had back in the day and continue to have in the entertainment industry. The one-disc collection at an affordable price gives the listener a good overview of a group that grew into the role of recording artists.

I was actually at 4 of Hendrix performances in the San Francisco Bay Area. This CD captures the essence of Jimi live and in the studio as I would imagine him to be. Jimi, Noel, and Mitch who I just saw last week at a Tribute concert in SF are there to be heard as they were meant to be. I could imagine being there as I listened. I recommend this set of CD's for any true fan of Jimi and The Experience as an insightful journey into the past. Make sure you check out EMP in Seattle as well. Sleepy

At nearly 2.5 hours, this concert DVD is an incredible bargain -- the equivalent of two CDs for less than the price of one. If you're an old Pink Floyd fan like me, you'll enjoy Waters' rendition of classic cuts from The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon, and other PF epics, interwoven with a sprinkling of material from Waters' post-PF career. As other reviewers have noted, the visuals are pretty lame, but the music is great, and that's what counts, at least for me. If half-star ratings were allowed on Amazon I'd go with the consensus of 4.5 stars. Definitely a bargain at the price, though!

Listening to this soundtrack is blast from the past. Quentin Tarantino out did himself with the slections he chose for this movie and cd. How many cd are out there with the Smiths (baby it you) This CD Rocks!

My mom had this cd but she lost it.I bought "Past Masters-Vol.2",my favorite songs are "Day Tripper","We Can Work It Out","Paperback Writer" and "Hey Jude".Before I was born my mom went to see The Beatles perform at Will Call coliseum in Cincinnati.This cd is a must keep for a true Beatles fan.
