It's hard to believe that all three members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience are now dead. And when you hear how alive and vibrant all of their albums are, it's harder to believe that they were recorded so long ago (thinking of 1967 as being 41 YEARS AGO is pretty difficult, too!). AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE is my personal favorite, primarily for having served as my first introduction to the JHE, but also because the wild ride of ARE YOU EXPERIENCED had been honed somewhat into a sharper but equally riveting album. There's the abandon of "EXP," "Spanish Castle Magic" and the bulk of "If 6 Was 9," but there's also the slow groove of "Up From The Skies" and the soft surreal philosophising of "Castles Made Of Sand." The whole album also feels more like an ALBUM than the JHE's first, and you can tell that Hendrix ... Read More

It is truly great to hear some new Christmas seasonal music, and some of the songs are really amazing. We first heard the song "December" in concert this March 2008, and I like the live version more, but it is a beautiful song nonetheless. I would love to hear more of these songs during the holiday season, instead of the same old stuff we are bombarded with for the 2 months before Christmas everywhere we go, now atleast I can at home.

Take the advice of another reviewer and get the US version, with good, clear, punchy sound - and no irrelevant extra tracks. This is the classic Traffic including Dave Mason with great songs and performances all round.

I'm a very big Pink floyd fan. I own most of their discs and It's amazing how different yet spectacular each of them are! This one is no exception. From my experience this is their most soothing album. Listening to it gives you a certain calm feeling. A lot of reviewers are saying that the album is no good because it's different than the rest. And it is the most different. But In this situation that's definetly not a bad thing. The only thing I would have to say negatively about the disc is that the lyrics slightly suffer from the past.
I also would have to say that the music sounds like its coming from the early seventies. Another bonus for me!
all in all a have to have for any Pink Floyd fan!

I was very disappointed when I watched this Blu Ray version of Jimi's historic concert at Monterey. I had already purchased the regular DVD version of this feature so I hoped the Blu Ray version would surpass that. I was very mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Blu Ray technology equals true HD which, if I'm not mistaken, should be in wide-screen format, right? Well, Jimi's whole Monterey performance is presented here with those annoying black-bars and either side of my HD wide-screen tv. Trust me, it's not the settings on my tv. It's simply the way that the film is presented on this "blu ray" disc. A total rip-off. Am I missing something here? If you have the DVD version already, save your money because the Blu Ray version is exactly the same presentation.

They finally release The Beatles in a High Fidelity format and what do we get a Megamix.....snippets of Beatle songs. For a lot of you DJ's out there you know how we hate Megamixes. Come on Apple Records, EMI, Parlophone whoever has the power, do it while we are still alive. The Beatles in it's true form on DVD-Audio, DTS ...... that would be amazing.

The amount of quality material that George Harrison had ready for an LP at the time of the Beatles break-up was enormous. Combining impressive and comprehensive musical arrangements with his penchant for the sugar sweet, he was able to create a triple-LP worth of pious beauty. Phil Spector's pattented wall of sound works wonders on the determined Harrison's unique brand of folk-rock. This record is touching in a way that only a Beatles member could make it, and never feels for me like a footnote to their wonderous career. George Harrison still stands next to Lennon/McCartney as the little guy, who liked to write a simple, pretty song. And there will always be those who think of him as their favorite Beatle because of it.

50.To Our Children's Children's Children by: The Moody Blues

Music : To Our Children's Children's Children
Like another reviewer said, there's a lot of fluffy nonsense on the first side that just spoils the album. I don't know how anyone can rate Higher and higher highly; it's not a proper song and it sounds quite too corny. Floating is another song which sounds like something on a children's soundtrack. Beyond never goes anywhere. I never thought is a great song, but at one minute length it's hard to enjoy it.

Eyes of a child and Out and in are the only songs I personally can listen to by this point. Sun is still shining sounds like ridiculous hippy nonsense and comes at the end of three great songs to spoil the mood.

That leaves us with four undeniable classics: Candle of life, Gypsy, Eternity Road and Watching and waiting. They're all among Moody's best songs ever. I just wish I could enjoy the ... Read More
