Meddle is the album that transitions from the early Syd Barret days to the sound most people know from "Dark Side of the Moon" and "Wish You Were here" As A huge fan of Floyd, and only 26 years old, I can easily see that this is an amazing musical performance regardless of the "Pink Floyd" name. Haunting the then future Dark Side of the Moon sound, but still exploring the experimental "psychedelic" ( a watery classification) sound that was early PF. It doesn't hold the memorable, sale friendly tunes of latter albums, but it is undeniably Floyd, and a simply great musical composure. I've been listening to Carlos Santana since I first saw him in the movie Woodstock in 1969 and have yet to be disappointed with any of this work. This includes Multi-Dimensional Warrior. I just recently witness another fantastic concert and loved every minute of it. The two-disc set is great. The first disc sets off the second disc beautifully. I love both, but prefer the second disc. It shows the more mellow side of Carlos, which I believe he should do more of. It shows off his wonderful talents with the guitar. This CD is a GREAT companion to anything else you might have from Santana. You will NOT be disappointed.

One could spend a lifetime an never can say enough about the fab four. The second of the series, this has the music that I my mind is the most creative period of the Beatles. To listen to the evolution of "Strawberry Fields" or any of the songs, is to hear how such musical genious is created. However, the song that stands out is the newly discovered "Real Love" which starts the cd. Poignant strains of piano and guitar haunt this melody. More so when you remember that John and George are no longer with us except in our hearts.

I was a major Moody Blues fan back in the era of this release. I owned every one of their albums on vinyl. I saw them in concert around 1970 and they were amazingly good live considering the amount of "studio" they always put into their work. I recently went back and purchased "Threshold" and "Lost Chord". The vocals and arrangements hold up pretty well and these guys were good players. However, some of the lyrics almost seem hokey and hard to take seriously (I really took this stuff seriously as a young kid). The poetic input is almost comical at times, but does help to frame the thematic nature of the album. Personally, I always liked "Threshold" the best with it's airy feel. As someone who loves the Beatles I looked forward to receiving this. I enjoy it, the only issue is that some of the songs are like out-takes, etc from recording sessions. Not that it is bad, but with some of the tunes, I just want to hear the song as I recall them. No reflection on the seller or product, I just didn't read what it was.

I know this is suposed to be a masterpiece and probably was groundbreaking at the time, but I am not digging it. I'm a fan of a lot of music from well before my time but I just can't get album. Maybe I'll try again but I just think it is dated.

I borrowed this disc from my sister to see if it was worth laying out a premium for it in the aftermarket. Buyer beware...this is a poor production. The bass is almost non-existent. The highs are overblown and the mix unto itself is bizarre. If you want to pay a premium for an audiophile version of Abraxas then treat yourself to the stereo SACD. It's really ashame as this would have been great album in 5.1 if done properly.

Very great disc for discover Pink Floyd, if you don't want to buy another expensive PF CDs. I received it very crashed and I had to change the CD box. I don't know how people can send CDs with no correct protecion boxes...
