Music : Uroboros (Limited Edition)

So far I am loving the album, I've only had it for a day. My favorite song had to be Red Soil, I just want to sing and dance to the song everytime I hear it.
I am DISAPPOINTED by the packaging of the cd... Cardboard? And when it arrived, it was kind of smooshed, so it won't stay up right. Lame-sauce.

Got a "deadache"? No problem, take two asprin and hang tight: "Dr. Sin is In" tomorrow. When it comes to absurdist humor, the Scandanavians wrote the book and Lordi is no exception. From this perspective, "Deadache" is wonderfully funny stuff. For example, "Girls Go Chopping" is enough to make any male chauvinist want to duck and cover...and "Raise Hell in Heaven" (like "The Devil is a Loser") spoofs the dark side.

Beyond this, "Deadache" presents some surprisingly intricate compositions. To appreciate this, one should attempt to filter out Mr. Lordi's increasingly ravaged-throat vocals and concentrate on the instrumental interplay. It's not Beethoven, but it is very good popular music. The mix is technically adequate.

Bottom line: from the ABBA-like title song to ... Read More

Apocalyptica is one of the most innovative and original ensembles ever existed. They possess creative muscle, expressive strength, bullet proof originality, mercurial energy, full rounded expansiveness and first rate technique.

This album is one of these overwhelming outbursts of volcanic inspiration. Literally every piece is a masterwork by itself. Of course, Harmageddon, Nothing else matters, refuse/resist, Inquisition symphony, Fade to black stand out because of its primordial wilderness and full expressiveness, but this album is one of the most relevant of the decade.

I haven't read all (or many) of the reviews for this yet but in the ones that I have read I haven't heard a thing about 3D. WATCH THE MOVIE ON A GOOD SIZED SCREEN TV WITH 3D GLASSES ON!!!!!!!!!! You know the red and blue lensed ones? When you watch it like that you wil be amazed! The most realistic psychodelic video ever! Please trust me and order some 3D glasses, this movie, and ask whomever you know that has a big screen if you can borrow a few minutes of it's time. It is SOOOO awesome what they have made!

About 1/3 of the tracks are good and really rock out. Good stuff!

Unfortunately, the remaining 2/3rds of the tracks are throwaway songs.

Megadeth is one of the classic thrash metal bands, and as such they have a lot of albums, and a lot of experience. This collection has something from every part of their careers, and as such it is a must have for any avid fan.

There are plenty of goodies, from unreleased tracks to never before seen video, plus demo versions of some of their most popular songs.

At any rate, if you're as big a Megadeth fan as I am, this belongs in your collection.

ROLL THE BONES was the last and most commercially successful of Rush's pop albums. This doesn't make it one of the band's better offerings, however. It's a bit better than HOLD YOUR FIRE, but again it suffers from being such a calculated effort at expanding the group's sales.

Sure, it starts off well enough. It IS a Rush album. "Dreamline" has some cool guitar stuff (an especially neat solo) and is a real keeper. A lot of people seem to like "Bravado," but it never makes much of an impression on me. "Roll the Bones" is better, despite the attempt at rap in the middle. It and "Neurotica" have parts that are quite reminiscent of INXS, which seems a bit odd on a Rush album. Both songs would probably work better with Michael Hutchence on vocals. "Where's My Thing" is similar in style, although it is an instrumental. ... Read More
