Stop bitching & mourning about the production of this dvd, people, and fans.(!!) Portnoy has warned us about the production beforehand. "...not as good as Budokan or Score, it'll be like 5 years in a livetime". That says it all. Who cares how they look on screen? This band is about music, not about how pretty they are. Well, not for me at least. The sound is great, particularly in 5.1ch. The song line-up is great, but this depends on your taste. All the behind DT concert thing is enjoyable for die-hard fans like me. If you think DT is just ok, these will be boring. I didn't give 5 stars because there are several parts where the songs start while the interviews haven't finished and also the interviews start while the songs haven't fully ended. Unlike most people that have reviewed this CD, I believe that this is one of, if not, the best CD Nightwish has put out. For one thing, the greatest song on their greatest hits was the Pink Floyd remake, "Hope." The new vocalist Annette, is by far a greater addition to this band. Maybe i wasn't the biggest Nightwish fan, but now I am going to be a loyal fan as long as they have this vocalist. In my opinion, this is a must have and the best Nightwish has to offer.

This is the THIRD CD of Sensucht that I have purcahsed. I wore the first one out by listening to it WAY too much ;) The second CD got lost in the shuffle in a cross-country move. This CD was the first CD I had ever heard of Rammstein's, and I have been a dedicated fan ever since!

how this band is not huge in the usa is beyond me. the sound, riffs,etc... are great!!! one can clearly hear the influence from bands such as: metallica, pantera,guns & roses, just to name a few. this cd is a must have for metal fans!!!

OK, I admit it. I'm a closet GRACE UNDER PRESSURE fan. The first half is nearly flawless. "Distant Early Warning" opens the record on an ominous note but it's catchy as hell. It might be Rush's best pure pop song. From there it just doesn't let up. "Afterimage" serves as a wonderful eulogy to a lost friend. "Red Sector A" features what are possibly Neil Peart's best lyrics. They're absolutely chilling. And the music suits them perfectly. The first half ends on a up note with the romping "Enemy Within," yet another fine example of the influence that the Police had on Rush at this point. The second half of the album is almost as good. "The Body Electric" may have a silly premise, but you can't deny that the performance (especially Lifeson's) is awe-inspiring. "Kid Gloves" is a great pop song, nothing more ... Read More

When "Hold Your Fire" was released in 1988, I was what might be considered the penultimate Rush fan. I got into them after "Power Windows," and had subsequently bought their entire back catalog on my Reganomics-era minimum wage capital and the freedom of a 10-speed bicycle. They were THE band. Their oeuvre exhibited a level of musicianship, creativity, intensity, and insight that I found appealing in all of its iterations. However, "Hold Your Fire" challenged me at every turn. Its cryptic, monochromatically crimson cover stood out from the clear symbolism of its predecessors, and its synth-laden soundscape clearly diverged from the aggressive energy that epitomized my conception of "Rush music." To be honest, I've actually read a lot of average reviews for this album and I can't help but thinking why.. First of all, I am a massiv efan of Nightiwsh and love everything they've ever done (except maybe Angels Fall First :p) but this album stands by far above the rest. Every song on this album is perfectly written and crafted and grabs your emotions like no other album can. Most metal bands are not known for great lyrics or for creating albums full of emotion, but this one is. Track 4, EVER DREAM, is possibly one of the most amazing songs ever created, filled with such sorrow and beauty at the same time.. While slying the dreamer filled with such rage yet frailty. By far, the greatest track on this album is the epic finale, Beauty Of The Beast. This is a true masterpiece that I can listen ... Read More
