Your wife will hate it. She will like the album well enough, but you will play it so much that she will be a most sympathetic figure at the divorce proceedings. If you are a fan of late 60's psychedelia, and really, who is not...and you have never heard this...order it now, and hire a good lawyer.

AWESOME! REALLY JUST AWESOME! A must have for anybody who likes surf or rockabilly or rock n' roll music. Great retro music!!! Also the Christmas A GO-GO is really great too! Joe Pesci is on it as well as the Ramones! Check it out too.

This is not as raw as the first, so fans of that record will not be pleased. However, I believe this a great transitional record. This is modern day West Coast psych with Allmanesquese Outlaws dual lead playing and funky driving organ. Lead vocals are the weak point ala Robert Wyatt out of breathness, however harmonies are nice. Songcraft has improved over previous album, guitar playing is more focused which will not please some. The next album will show how important the move has been. For those not familiar with the first album looking for something new to take a chance on try this, it is a screaming buy which may surprise.

Originally released in 1972 as a big honkin' double LP, Nuggets: Original Artyfacts From The First Psychedelic Era, 1965-1968 is one of the greatest albums ever, a wicked-awesome guided tour through some of rock 'n' roll 's lost treasures. Although Rhino Records' four-disc box set of the same title (which includes all 27 of the tracks found here) is probably the definitive reissue of this material, this is cheaper, and it's the more concise listen. And really, how can you argue with songs like these? There's the thumping garage punk of the Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction," the howling proto-metal of the Amboy Dukes' "Baby Please Don't Go," and the zonked-out weirdness of the Castaways' "Liar Liar." I love the Standells, especially their signature classic, "Dirty Water." In fact, the Boston Red Sox were greeted with this song during the 2007 World Series. Go, Boston! This Beatle mopped quartet has honored the Beatles with an excellent cover of "I Want to Hold Your Hand." The Standells guest STARRed in Episode 26 of the Munsters, which aired early in 1965. They did a cute, boppy tribute to Beatle Ringo with "Come On & Ringo," which proves that NOBODY can dodge that Beatle influence!
