OK I may not like all the songs on the album but I still give all my Monster albums 5 stars. your going to konw all the songs if you ever had a radio inthe 80s\90s. I listen to them ALL over and over and over! I am a fan of most 80s music so I dont mind the few oddballs they through in that may not fit for others. IT is all 80s, all music that defined a generation of music. If you were a true metal head you may not be thrilled, but if you were just a fan of 80s music you will be.

A reviewer below put it best when he said "if you like Aerosmith, buy Aerosmith". I bought this album, as I'm sure many other hardcore fans did, but I have only played it once, and will never play it again. If you like Aerosmith then how can you even listen to this? It can't be as good as the original songs, they can only be worse. Ronnie James Dio does a good vocal on Dream On, but Malmsteen completely ruins the song by showing off. Ted Nugent (not knocking his solo stuff) ruins Rag Doll with his infamously horrible vocals, and the melody on it is all screwed up. Vince Neil has a great vocal on Chip Away, and No Surprize is the most successful tracko on the album. DTL isn't bad, and Toys has a neat ending, but overall this is just horrible. This is a pretty good solid state overall. If you are into the roster right now on solid state this is a pretty good representation of what the new cd's are like. It was nice to hear becoming the archetype's new song before the album is even released. THe only reason I gave this album 4 stars is because i don't like a few of the songs (only like 2 of them) and the last demon hunter track my heart strings come undone the acoustic version didn't really flow with the rest of the cd. Other than that it is great. I got mine for 6 dollars so i can't complain!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best tribute cds I ever hear to tribute a band and this is not just a band for Christ Sakes!!!! is Mayhem so if You got the chance to get it dont let it go for me the best song on this album is Limbonic Art cover Der Mysteriis Dom Sathanas is 5 of 5.

I agree completely with the previous reviewer. This is an excellent roundup of many different artists and styles. I admit I bought it only for the Jen Wood track, which is the best song on the album, but there are other gems on the CD that make it a great buy. The songs by Braid, Aspera Ad Astra, and Ida are all excellent, and most of the rest are enjoyable, or at least pleasantly listenable. The track listing makes the music swell and fall in two cycles, with the second spate of harder music (tracks 12-14) feeling a little out of place. The only complaint I had was with the closer: Tim Kinsella's 'A Picture Postcard' is somewhere beyond unlistenable.
