Brad's as good as he can be, and that ain't bad! The album is wonderful if you're looking for an instrumental guitar album. His duets are pleasant, but nothing compared to Whiskey Lullaby or When I Get Where I'm Going. If you're a Brad fan who appreciates him as a guitarist, get it. You'll like it. If you're just a country fan who likes some of Brad's stuff, I'd say skip it and buy TIME WELL WASTED or 5TH GEAR.

I guess this isn't what I was expecting - this is mostly the serious side of Christmas, not really any upbeat fun country stuff.

this cd is just what I expected it to be. Both men are masters of their instrunebts and show it every bar of every song.

I bought this CD basically for one song. I found a couple others that I liked so that was good. I thought the sound quality was good considering that this is much older music. They must have improved the quality considerably. So I would say I enjoy this CD.

Having seen some videos of these two in performance, I expected a lot more from the CD. There was no reason to include vocals on this effort, or even backing instrumentation. Atkins was a pioneering genius of the guitar and Knopfler is his equal in talent and technique. The two of them together alone on a stage made magic, and that's all this CD needed. Yes, there is great guitar playing to be found here, but not nearly as much as there might have been had the production not been overloaded with extraneous material. One great guitarist can entertain a crowd all night -- two great guitarists as in sync with one another as Knopfler and Atkins were, could (and did) entertain the crowd that much more. A very accessible record that my uncle, an avid Chet Atkins fan, loved when he recieved it as a "new car" present (bye-bye cassette tapes).

HOT, HOT, HOT!!! One of the best instumental albums you'll ever hear. Inventive, creative, original. As Jimmy's son points out, he was Leo's torchbearer with the tele. According to George Fullerton, Mr. Fender's right-hand man, he and Leo were at a club in Riverside, CA, looking for guitarists to "test drive" this new invention. During a set break they approached Jimmy, who took it, sat on the edge of the stage and began picking. As George related the story, all in attendance stopped what they were doing, gathered around and watched Bryant pick away. It, I'm sure, was an historic moment.
