I have not ever disliked a cd from Enya and I am glad this one proves it again. While Enya may not be for everyone due to the wonderful relaxing, emotional, and sometimes spirit lifting tones mixed with beautiful lyrics and a voice that is unique I feel that this cd is an exception and everyone should at least listen to it at least one time. I am not one for classic holiday music since it is overdone to death and this is not what you would consider classic but in its own right it will become a classic at least in my collection. A beautiful mix of music for background or just to listen to that will hopefully bring you and your family or loved ones into a loving holiday spirit. Happy Holidays.

I listened to this album once through quietly at work before listening carefully to each of the tracks. First of all, the fact that David wrote or co-wrote 10 of the 12 tracks is amazing - and rare. Not only do the songs sound incredible, they are obviously personal and deeper than the average Top 40 hit. My favorite track is "Permanent" but it is heartbreaking and difficult to listen to. It makes me hurt for him. My other favorite is "Bar-ba-sol." It's a throwback to the eighties and it makes me smile even though the lyrical content is a little sad. I am big country music fan and I don't listen to a lot of rock music, but I love this CD and recommend it to anyone.

This album really is not sincere Coldplay. This is a departure from what they truly are as musicians. I recently saw them on tour here in Phoenix, I must say i was disappointed. The X&Y tour was much better, much more impressive very powerful and memorable. I vaguely remember the Viva la Vida show I just saw, that's what kind of an impression it left on me. The album itself does not grab me at all and lacks the power of the previous three. I hope that Chris Martin and the Boys wake up and are true to themselves. It is not worth alienating longevity or true fans to please a few critics. If you are new to Coldplay before buying this album listen to Parachutes, Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y first so you have an idea of what Coldplay REALLY sounds like when they are themselves.

I agree with ' R. Spradley "RS"' completely. this album is just boring. It lacks the Dido 'Hook'. Nothing sticks out here. Cant believe it took nine years for this. Come on Dido, you know how to right a hook, we KNOW you do. :)

There is nothing this woman can put out that I won't buy. This CD was incredible, as is everything she does. The best part for me was being able to download the music while I waited for the CD to come in the mail! I enjoyed the traditional mixed with the unique. I don't normally go for Christmas/Holiday music (too commercial), but I was NOT disappointed in this compilation. Definately BUY!

I like pretty much all kinds of music, short of extremely hardcore rap and country. Jason Mraz is one of the best singers I've ever heard and his amazing songwriting ability creates a dreamlike musical experience that I feel like I can relate to personally in my own life. This music helped me through lots of hard times and I can't recommend it highly enough.

This band completely lost focus since X&Y. All in all I feel that these songs would have worked fine as B-sides, and that they should be treated as such. Life In Technicolor II: Part 1 IMO is better, all the freshness of part 1 is lost due to the horrible singing. It sounds patched and it doesn't flow well. The song tries hard to build up but never gets there. Postcards From Far Away: This is OK for ENYA. Not much to say here Glass Of Water; This is Viva la Vida (song) meets X&Y. It sounds weird, but after a few listens you get accustomed to it. I would say this is the highlight of this EP, but B-side material at most. Rainy Day: Coldplay going techno. Each and every song stands on its own merit. Thoughtful, mature voice with a bluesy feel.Loved it!

I really hate to compare Duffy to Amy Winehouse, because there really are differences between the two. I think we get caught up in the era that their music reflects, but after listening to Duffy's entire cd, I heard a different take on soul without some of the grit of A Winehouse. Duffy provides a great collection of songs, without the overkill, and I enjoy each one. I am still troubled by the fact that American artist aren't putting out the most creative material with great lyrics, like these British artist...no offense to "B", but she's older and married with a top song called "Single Ladies", while these artist like Adele are coming out with great lyrics. My favorite selections are "Hanging On to Long" and "Stepping Stone". I would give those songs 5 stars, however, all of the others would get 4 stars, ... Read More
