When I say mainstream, I don't mean streamlined, because this is anything but that. This album has many elements that are surprising for those accustomed to the bluesy and power pop elements of the two main songwriters. The tracks are filled with diverse genre bending all without sounding alternative, or even commercial, and I have to give them credit for that. This album is a definite step up from Broken Boy Soldiers which was clearly an overly simplified introduction to the dabbling sensibilities each songwriter brought to the table, on this album the entire band feels adequately showcased throughout and they stretch out. Amazon referred me to Santogold based on my music purchases and I'm so glad they did. The music and lyrics are just what I was looking for...you'll be singing along to all the tracks in no time. I'm definitely a fan.

WOW!,the sound and performance is just like "Aha Shake Heartbrake" but the tracks are different.For a true fan,i recommend "Youth And Youngman Hood","Aha Shake Heartbrake","Because Of The Times" and "Only By The Night".

Nobody playing today rocks as hard as The Black Keys! I stood in a jam packed crowd earlier this year to see these guys... and it was great. They generally mix in a couple of lower key songs... but mostly they rip and roar. Nothing beats the real thing. If The Black Keys come to your town... go see them. But, this DVD can hold you over until then. If you have the first live DVD... the presentation is about the same... but the song list is different, of course.

The Black Keys have ventured far from their break-out album The Big Come Up, and while some of the songs still rock, most of the album sounds over-produced. The gritty, wailing guitar sound that makes the The Black Keys so great seems to have taken a haitus. But, all that said, tracks 1 and 2 seems to be a step in the right direction, hopefully they'll see that for their next album.

So, I was trying to get my hands on this movie for a little while. I tried to download it, then it seemed to only be available from Europe, but, I finally got a hold of it from Amazon. It's really a great documentary. It's well put-together and will give you a lot of good insight on the life and legacy of Joe Strummer: whether you know him from the 101ers, The Clash, The Mescaleros, etc.

i was in junior high school when the british invaded, listening to this album brought back a lot of memories, i give this 5 stars if you like the kinks, you will love this cd
