I agree with ' R. Spradley "RS"' completely. this album is just boring. It lacks the Dido 'Hook'. Nothing sticks out here. Cant believe it took nine years for this. Come on Dido, you know how to right a hook, we KNOW you do. :)

If you loved his voice with Hootie & the Blowfish, you'll love it more as he sings his own country songs. He wrote all but one on this CD and they're all good!

I had never heard of Ray LaMontagne before Amazon's recommendation engine pointed out to me that people frequently bought Martin Sexton's "Solo" along with "Gossip in the Grain." I'm a huge fan of Martin Sexton since about a year ago, and looking for more amazing folk/rock music to experience. So I sampled a few tracks before downloading mp3s for "You are the Best Thing" and "Let It Be Me." Repeated playings of these tracks quickly lead to buying the rest. (And then regretting not buying the physical CD.) Love the whole album, listening to it many times the past couple of days, and now waiting eagerly for his first two albums to be delivered. This is an outstanding album. Amazing blend of voices that I wouldn't have imagined. Best buy for me this year.

Pretty disappointing with not a single remarkable song. After so many great albums over the years this is a miss rather than a hit.

thi is one of the most beautiful cds i have ever listened to. it highlights the brilliance of guthrie and brooke's voice is pure angelic honey. the music is wonderful. i had never heard of jonatha until npr highlighted this music. get it today. you will love it.

I was curious to hear this CD given Bruni's notoriety over the years. Overall it's a dull outing. The production is virtually identical from song to song, with Bruni's average voice (sounds like a French Dido) mixed far forward with almost no reverb in every song. And there's nary a backing vocal or harmony track anywhere on this CD. Just the same presentation song after song. Was the producer asleep? And the writing? Well the first tune, "Ma Jeunesse", grabbed me until I realized it's a virtual carbon copy of the Beatles' "For No One", down to the French horn solo. (Paul & co. should sue for copyright infringement.) Beyond that, I didn't hear any great melodies here. Overall she'll remain more famous for her "off the record" activities...

She has some great songs on this album. I bought it for the song "Realize" but the other songs are nice as well. Her sound is evident on this album and if you like "Realize", then you should like the rest of the album.

Ingrid's new CD, Be OK, is a great listen. From the first track to the last, you won't be disappointed. She has a smooth voice and her songs are very unique, making them even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this album!
