Ok I have no intellectual words to describe this CD....EXCEPT IT ROCKS!!! "Rocks" meaning that this album brings you to a musical wonderland. I got lost in it and I didn't want to be found man!!! Once again, Sir Paul, THANK YOU!!!!!! Whatever you and Youth did in your little music room....it freakin worked! I would say...Heck yes!...buy this CD!! WOO HOO!!!!

Most of the songs on this great album were written in India while the Fab Four were studying Transcendental Meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in early 1968. This is also the first album in which not all four Beatles participated on every track. Yet from an artistic standpoint, they remained very strong, although not every track here necessarily was. Back In The USSR-A rock song by Paul. One of the albums' better tracks. Ringo had temporarily walked out so it's Paul playing the drums here. Dear Prudence-Written by John and named after Mia Farrow's sister who John said meditated too long. Again, Paul plays the drums. This is an amazing set. I have been listening to the SACD import version (which everyone except amazon seems to know has already been released) which brings a clarity and fidelity to these recordings like nothing before it! It is hard to believe this music is closing in on 40 years old, and in 5.1 surround sounds as fresh as if it had been recorded yesterday. Some of the mixing choices are different than I remember on the orginals (some better, some not), however, I am also hearing new sounds that were previously obscured within the mix. Highly recommended!

Frankly, the album has obviously secured itself the "classic" title. Honestly, how could it not? While many feel it to be over-rated and pretentious, the impact it had on pop-culture, and the impact it continues to have, is simply massive. It is a fair assumption that there will never be another band like the Beatles, and by extension another album like Sgt. Pepper. While this is rather sad, it's also for the best. Anyone who loves the album shouldn't have a problem with this fact, as they can simply put on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band; thirty-nine minutes of music that changed the world.

First, I am not a huge GNR fan but as many thirtysomethings, GNR was one of the great bands that I listened to and enjoyed. There was always a tightness to the songs whether they were loud and raunchy or soft and reflective. Coming into this, I was more interested than excited and after seeing many of the reviews being for the most part positive, I purchased the album. Listening to it, I lost interest about 5 minutes into it and tried hard to get it back. There are songs worthy of listen (Madagascar and There Was a Time) and who knows, maybe with time it will grow on me but I doubt it. All I hear is Queensryche circa 1992 and unless you liked their album tracks, it is going to be hard to get into this one. I can't say that this album is a total failure but it is pretty close. This is a fine compilation of hits from a great band, and truly epitomizes the term "greatest hits". This collection is just that...hits. If you are a fan of Journey, you'll love it. If you've heard one song on this collection, chances are you've heard them all. And if you haven't heard them, one listen and you'll be hooked.

Creedence Clearwater Revival is definitely one of the coolest bands of all-time. Frontman John Fogerty is one hell of a singer/songwriter. How can you not love classics like Down on the Corner, Fortunate Son, Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Susie Q, and many more. This is how southern rock is supposed to be done, I highly recommend it! Good job fellas.
