Was delightfully suprised by this album. I've always admired both men, but the two of them together brings back a feeling to music that has been missing.

Joey & Rory may have lost on Can You Duet (they were ripped off in my opinion), but thank the Lord, they got a record deal. This CD is excellent. Finally, a country duo and not some pop star wanna-bes. They have fun and also seem to really enjoy poking a little fun at times. She can sing slow songs and up tempo songs with equal enthusiasm. Rory balances it out with his unassuming demeaner and songwriting talent. He also sings harmony, but never interferes with her lead vocals. I also own her solo Cd from a couple of years ago. Search for Joey Martin on MySpace and you can buy the MP3's from that CD. Hope they're around for a long time.

Just like fine wine, Buddy Guy keeps getting better and better. The new Skin Deep, which all the songs were written by Buddy is awesome. If you're a blues fan, this CD is for you.

Bought this CD as USED but it looks and sounds as good as new. This music is haunting, beautiful, or charming...depending on the specific tune. This is really pre-country / bluegrass classical folk stuff. You will either understand its origins and love it, or think it is stupid.

I had heard an review on National Public Radio and since my husband is a big blues fan, I thought I'd try it. This was a wonderful surprise! We love the CD and would recommend it to anyone - whether they are a major blues fan or not.

Nowhere on Earth are you going to find a better live album produced this Centry. Joe has been tearing up stages for nearly 20 years. This set is indicative of where he is at at this particular time in his career. Even though this recording what pieced together from a few different shows recorded in late 2007 it plays seemlessly. Having seen Joe numerous times I at first thought the crowd seemed a little distant. Joe's crowds can get pretty vocal at times. With the crowd noise kept to a minimum it doesn't seem to interfere with the moments captured here. The production of this live opus was handled by none other than Kevin Shirley most noted for recent work remastering the Led Zepelin DVD How The West Was Won. Taj Mahal has all the qualities of a true American, nay, world master musician: vocal and instrumental technique, characteristic personal style, the curiosity of exploration, the fearlessness of experimentation, wisdom, and group leadship. Listening to this wide-ranging CD, I was struck with how many blues styles he captured, from country to urban, from the Deep South to the Caribbean to West Africa, at home on banjo, harmonica, and acoustic and electric guitars. With the great group Los Lobos and also the Phantom Blues Band and Ziggy Marley's Band as support, we take a grand tour of a great musical soul, the result of decades of learning. Having first heard Taj Mahal 40 years ago and enjoyed his works over the ensuing years, I regard this album as a classic must buy. How apt its title!
