Basically I really like this album. It is a typical Nickelback album, it has your anti-junkie song, stripper song and a few sex songs. The thing about it though, is that the driving music keeps you into every song. I'm sure there are, at least, six top ten singles here. I just hope they will continue to hold my interest with the same formula. All in all a good album.

I was not expecting a Lucinda Williams disk so soon after 'West' was released. I didn't even know 'Little Honey' was coming until I stumbled across a review in a Sunday paper a few days prior to its release date. Unlike many, I really liked 'West', save a few songs. I thought it had some unique elements for a Williams disk. It was supposedly her 'sad' album, as opposed to her 'angry' album or this one, which people are calling her 'happy' disk. Whatever. Williams sings with such conviction on any of her releases, that I don't really go for the emotional labels people & reviewers insist putting on her. I had never heard of Ray LaMontagne before Amazon's recommendation engine pointed out to me that people frequently bought Martin Sexton's "Solo" along with "Gossip in the Grain." I'm a huge fan of Martin Sexton since about a year ago, and looking for more amazing folk/rock music to experience. So I sampled a few tracks before downloading mp3s for "You are the Best Thing" and "Let It Be Me." Repeated playings of these tracks quickly lead to buying the rest. (And then regretting not buying the physical CD.) Love the whole album, listening to it many times the past couple of days, and now waiting eagerly for his first two albums to be delivered. If you have an ipod or any MP3 player, ALL I INTENDED TO BE is the second Emmylou Harris cd you should have! the first being THE VERY BEST OF EMMYLOU HARRIS! If you listened to the samples without headphones, go back and listen again with headphones!!! And for all you duds, and you dudetts, if your thinking of just buying downloads, it is worth buying the whole cd just to get the picture of Emmylou that's on the back cover!!!

Byrne has always appealed to my Asperger's side. I might have been the only 12 year old who bought "Stop Making Sense" and "Little Creatures" and wanted more. In doing this review, I am going to stick to just Byrne's lyrical albums as a comparison and avoid his instrumental works. As others have noted here, "Everything That Happens Will Happen Today" is one of Byrne's finest albums. That being said, there are a few mediocre songs like "I Feel My Stuff", "The River", "Poor Boy" and "The Lighthouse", but these are minor interferences. They do not bring the album down as a whole. The rest of the songs are true Byrne gems like "Home", "My Big Nurse", "Everything That Happens", "Life Is Long", "Strange Overtones", "Wanted For Life" and "One Fine Day"--I like them all equally, which really makes this ... Pretty disappointing with not a single remarkable song. After so many great albums over the years this is a miss rather than a hit.
