Was delightfully suprised by this album. I've always admired both men, but the two of them together brings back a feeling to music that has been missing.

I purchased this cd shortly after it came out. It is a cd I put on when I want to gentle my mind. Her voice is warm and her phrasing is perfection. Every time winter comes around I listen to her constantly..Especially if it's rainy and cold. Her music just beckons for a glass of warm wine and a good book. A must have for any music lover. The songs "don't know why" & "come away with me" illustrate the great things about being in love and all of it's dynamics.

Amos Lee is fabulous. He has the most soulful voice, great lyrics, a wonderful band, and is not bad to look at either!!
I recently saw him in concert at Workplay, and he was amazing. The entire audience was mesmerized. Every song on this CD, as well a his other releases, is either a 4 or a 5 star song. I have all his releases on my ipod, and have not found one song that I don't like.
Soulful, romantic, beautiful, lovely voice, and lovely man!

I purchased this CD for the song with Corinne Bailey Rae, but I got so much more. Al Green had songs with Anthony Hamilton and John Legend as well. I don't think I would call this classic Al Green,(though some of the beats reminded me of some of his former songs),but I believe Mr. Green has put his signature on today's music. I absolutely love this CD-I play it almost every day. Of course, most of the songs are love songs, with the kind of words women want to hear. This is a "sittin' on the back porch, in the evening, with a glass of lemonaid", CD.

More of same - luckily I like Norah Jones. I wish she'd branch out and explore different musical styles...perhaps more serious collaborations with other equally talented musicians. I'd love to be actually listenting to her rather than just having her as pleasant background music. She could do more, but I'm happy to add this latest to my collection.

I thought 2006's "Mythologies" was one of the most creative "jazz" recordings ever, and one of the best c.d.'s of that year. When I heard that Ms. Barber was going from that Guggenheim-funded project to a c.d. of Cole Porter covers, I thought, "Huh?"

But in a weird sort of way, it makes sense. Say what you will about Patricia Barber: this is an artist who pushes the envelope. And discovering how to make new and fresh an idea that has been done a thousand times before is, in its own way, a creative challenge.

And Patricia Barber succeeds. Here's why:

In previous recordings, I've noted that Patricia Barber is like a singing Mrs. Robinson - one who sings with a detached cool that masks a profound amount of emotion. Here, she lets the emotion out.

Norah Jones on this album does what music is supposed to do, cut out the world and just listen to her voice, her words and her music. "Feels Like Home" gives me the feeling of being at home in comfort and not wanting to leave. I will listen to this album over and over and keep it forever high on my list of most favorites.

Well, this is everything jazz should be, in this novice listener's opinion. Subdued in the right places, swinging in others, the supergroup Adderley put together for this album is simply astounding. Miles Davis and Adderley take center stage, but Hank Jones has some quality moments, and Sam Jones and Art Blakey provide a steady, if subdued, backbeat. I'd like to hear Blakey a little louder in the mix, but that's a small quibble.

The album may be a bit too conservative for those with particularly experimental tastes, nothing truly innovative seems to be going on here, but everything is in its proper place and is a wonderful starting point for those interested in exploring a burgeoning jazz infatuation, like myself.

I ordered this CD a week or so ago,
but did not have the time to listen
to it until last night.
I had really looked forward to this historic recording,
as I have heard some of the 'tracks' before.
A great live musical perfomance by renown and legendary
musical genius.
But every track- except one- has a 'dropoff' or 'cutout' of the audio
at the very end. I do not know whether to attribute this to
the actual copy I received, or a sloppy remixing or remastering
process. Even though this is a litho-screened 'factory' CD,
supposedly released by a 'major' label, it has the audio quality
of a bootleg MP3. If you have ordered this CD from the same or even a different vendor, and have experienced the same issues, please leave a comment.... ... Read More
