Okay, right out of the gate. How much did you personally need to hear Mudcrutch? I really needed to hear something as good and rewarding as the Mudcrutch debut for years. Oh sure, I have plenty of great albums and have seen plenty of great shows. But, I felt an under appreciation for so many of the artists I was enjoying. The rush of well deserved hype, critical and fan based elation and the simple excellence of their debut took me right back to the innocent early years of first being excited about new bands, and rock-n-roll music in general. I was equally excited about this EP release. I'm only dropping a 4 star **** review because, I'm spolied. I wanted more. I purchased this LP even though I own the digital version via iTunes. This LP certainly does sound different. It sounds, as most people would describe, warmer than the digital version. It's also a lot more fun to play since it takes manual work to enjoy. The LP has excellent information on the jacket (lyrics, photos) and is in brand new condition. All in all, I'm glad I purchased the LP version since I will probably listen to it a lot more this way than from iTunes. It was a good purchase.

This band completely lost focus since X&Y. All in all I feel that these songs would have worked fine as B-sides, and that they should be treated as such. Life In Technicolor II: Part 1 IMO is better, all the freshness of part 1 is lost due to the horrible singing. It sounds patched and it doesn't flow well. The song tries hard to build up but never gets there. Postcards From Far Away: This is OK for ENYA. Not much to say here Glass Of Water; This is Viva la Vida (song) meets X&Y. It sounds weird, but after a few listens you get accustomed to it. I would say this is the highlight of this EP, but B-side material at most. Rainy Day: Coldplay going techno. Don't let the 3 star rating fool you. I love Radiohead. In fact, I think a few songs on here are among my favorite of their whole discography. However, I can't quite say the same over the majority of the album. To me as more of a listener, I don't try exploring all the little nooks and crannies of albums a lot of times and, perhaps and probably, as a result, I really couldn't and still can't see the massive appeal this album brings. Is it junk? Hardly. But I don't believe it deserves the massive reputation it has. Take my opinion with a grain of salt, though. Radiohead is a strongly developed and acquired taste.
