The experts always remind us the the music supporting a movie should be subtle, understated and unobtrusive.

The soundtrack to Chariots of Fire not only meets and exceeds the above criteria it also stands firmly on its own.

This CD, I believe, would be a winner even if it had not been heard by millions the world over as part of their theater going experience.

Pop this disk into you favorite CD player, curl up in your favorite chair with a good book or magazine and let your ears become your source of relaxation for an hour or so. And, by the way, you may just see well conditioned and highly motivated men running on the beach.

Before Eddie Murphy And in the becoming days of a young George Carlin. There was a comedian named Richard Pryor. On this performance the title is very misleading, rather than being "crazy" he is being more truthful and straight forward. Taped on the infamous Soul train sound-stage Richard delves into topics that some may consider taboo or at the least shocking. But regardless of the material the statements made on this tape are honest and thought provoking. From the moment he talks about different lifestyles and different cultures you can just picture all these colorful characters. Some you may even know form your own neighborhood. Just as Bill Cosby is the great story teller, Richard tell great stories as well with a his language a lil more peppered. Where Cosby's characters always seem like ... Read More

Music : The Phantom of the Opera
Seems a bit silly reviewing something so well known but, having the original with Sarah Brightman on vinyl and not playing it I really did want it on CD, beautifully done and a delight to play again. However i do have one big grouch. Each time I put it in my basket I got a message that it could not be sent to my address (In OZ). I wonder why, I even tried a site that said posted from Australia, no go. I only got it from the UK and was charged an exhorbitant price in the end. Certainly nothing like when I buy from USA, so Aussie buyers beware where you purchase from.

Music : Christmas Memories
Being a born again Christian and accepting god as my savior in 1982 I always loved this Holiday record as a child when my mom purchase it for Holiday 1977. It was fun and upbeat and different form our classic holiday records. It was such a meaningful Recording as we prepared to move from Snowy cold Burlington, mass to sunny super hot Phoenix in Spring of 1978. I purchased the cassette tape in 1987 when Evie renamed it from 77's Come on and Ring those Bells with a whole additonal recording added to the original record. I wore it out and had been looking with not much luck for about 5 years for the Cd. I had to buy it for over $50 but It was so worth it. I love it's message so much I play it year round. I hope that someday soon Her entire Cataloque will be released.

I was thrilled a few years back when I found this holiday collection by Keely Smith; long a favorite of mine. Her clear, gorgeous voice does plenty of justice to every cut on this album; whether religious or traditional yuletide songs. From the opening cut White Christmas to Blue Christmas at the very end; you will want to keep this on your turntable over the holidays & long afterward. Very highly recommended.
