"In Between Dreams" is a wonderful assortment of music. Mostly consisting of heartfelt and feel good songs; such as: Better Together, Banana Pancakes, No Other Way, Constellations. Unto more upbeat rhythmic tracks: Sitting Waiting Wishing, Breakdown, Staple It Together. Even touching on the more political/societal themes in: Never Know, Good People, and Crying Shame.

Johnson's songs are bursting with meaning, yet a certain simplicity. Thoughtful lyrics are a huge part of his music. It's what I appreciate most about his songs. The folksy, smooth, melodic beat coming close second.

The fact that this guy would probably be a hit with John Mayer fans is a blow to this guy, since John Mayer is easily one of the worst hacks making music (no, muzak) today. I was hinted to call this guy a slightly more interesting John Mayer with an acoustic guitar. Sure, it's not deep music, it won't start anything, but it's breezy, chill music (not muzak, thank god). It's definitely worth getting.

The sound of Jack Johnson is a good one, it will definitely relax you. It's a very chill album, but it's soothing and makes you feel good, than rather making you feel drowsy, bored, and wanting to rip your hair out. Jack Johnson plays smooth, sharp, refreshing melodies on the guitar, and his very cool voice floats together. The rhythm section really makes it come to life, catchy, ... Read More

Got this cd based on the song Hallelujah and everyone giving it such great reviews. Let me just say I am completely disappointed. I listened to it twice to give it the benefit of the doubt and found there are are only 2 or 3 songs I would ever wanna hear on this album ever again.

The Jack's smooth voice and his music, simple and pleasant, can be addictive. In fact, I bought all the other Jack's albums after hear this vinyl. It's a very good album, it isn't pretentious and that is indeed what attracts. Everyone needs Jack after a hard work day.

I'm a certified Christmas-music junkie, so I only allow myself to purchase two new CD's each year. So, naturally, I'm very selective. This CD turned out to be everything I could have hoped and more. A nice mixture of traditional carols, religious and secular, and all delivered in the melodious tones Jewel delivers. Love it!

Emerging from the shadow of Kurt Cobain in the late 90's, Elliott Smith was perhaps the greatest singer songwriter of his generation. Smith's genius was his unabashedly honest, naked, poetic lyricism that was so beautifully complemented by his unpretentiousness acoustic guitar. Like none that came before him, Smith delivers note after note of haunted, sparkling melancholy. Far from gloomy, his songs radiate with incredible emotional intensity. Combining an unbridled punk rage within the guise of an acoustic folk song, his songs speak for themselves. Reflective and introspective, each song unfolds like a delicately wrapped package, revealing itself slowly. Smith's songs present themselves like late night thoughts that just won't go away. Concerning themselves with drug abuse, depression, and ... Read More

This is Fiona's first album. Although not yet fully developed, her talent was already impressive here.

Criminal was a big hit, but the album is great all the way, with nice and easy listening songs all through it. Her voice blends so perfectly with the piano chords and Brion's producing is high quality. The band that plays on it is also extremely professioanl.

And let's face it, how many real talented women do we have nowadays singing rock? By far my favourite female voice!

The artist Jewel is really a country- pop crossover, sent in several years after its actual 19994 release to clean up MTV and be the main American-Euro rock star. Her material here is incredibly simple, not even basic folk music. A following release This Way just defined country, but this here is the major label debut. I like it, not love it, This Way is much better, it just defined country.

A great singer-songwriter that passed away but left some memorable music behind. A hint of the Beatles; his sweet, airy voice coupled with some great writing though dark reminds a bit of a new up-and-rising SS:Arrica Rose in her new album La La Lost. Take a listen.
