I don't know if this band is trying to make a political statement, however I love George Bush and respect everything he has done for the United States. He is an American hero regardless of what the liberal hippies think. Great CD though!!!!

I would have to say, that unfortunately, this is by far Beck's weakest effort to date, which is really a shame because I have always considered Beck to be one of the most consistently creative and intriguing artists of our time with nearly all of his works being brilliant in an entirely different way. Unfortunately, Modern guilt gives just seems to say that Beck isn't even trying. Every one of Becks albums before this seem have atleast a few tracks that seem to jump out at you. There are really no tracks on this album that really grab me. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing outright bad about the album, but it does (at least to me) comes across as faceless. The first Single "Chemtrails" is pretty enough, and the melody is pleasant, but the spacey production sounds bears too close of a resemblance ... Read More

I am writing this review after my second listening of the CD. This is the only EH disc that I own but I do enjoy country music.

- Songs: easy listening; layed back (mellow); folk / ballad style. Definitely a "listening" CD vs. background music. Nothing to hum about but good if you're looking for something different, especially from her (according to the reviews).

- Recording: instrumental tracks are excellent; on some songs the voice tracks sound "recorded" and artificial. I have a fairly high-end system with good quality headphones that tend to exagerate recording flaws.

- Packaging: cardboard sleeve for disc; my disc already has small scratches and some pitting but for $10 I can live with it.

A change of direction? yes and no.. is it better than the albums they made prior to takk...? No.. but better than takk? in my opinion, it very well is. Sigur Ros is one of those bands you try to get.. or a band you don't get at all... you see, because Sigur Ros is so hard to "get" if you get what I am saying. with this album, Sigur Ros Does not Delve into Sonic experiments as much as their entire discography but that can be a change for the good. When Takk... tried too hard to be accessible, this one does it much more flawlessly.. so in terms it seems Sigur Ros Is comfy with not being the Experimental band of Ágætis byrjun but a more Built up, More Organic, Visceral to say sort of band.

Pros: An Improvement over their last album, Very Beautiful as is all of sigur Ros's music. Very Reflective, ... Read More

Well of course both of these artist alone are musical genius. You certainly can't go wrong putting two geniuses together. I love Led Zep. and although I've never been a "fan" of Blue Grass, I have been an Alison Krauss fan. Of course this CD is closer to Blue Grass than hard rockin' Led Zep. But, it works. They work. I can't wait for their next album! (My favorite song on this is 'Please Read The Letter'. In this song is where you will find your Led Zep. "flavor".)

Death Cab for Cutie has always been an all-time favorite of mine. They were my very first concert.

I was ecstatic when I heard that they were finally coming out with a new album.

I couldn't have been more disappointed. Not even one song stood out on the ENTIRE CD.

Oh, Death Cab. Please, give us something decent next time. Please.

I had no idea who this singer/artist was. I saw his album cover in Starbucks (and it's sorta eyecatching with the drawing and the title) and said, "Hm. Interesting." Promptly forgot about it. Then heard "I'm Yours" on the radio and said, "Hey, this is great! What a fun song! Who is this?" The announcer said "Jason Mraz". So I said okay, gotta buy it. I did. Now I can't stop listening to it. And do I love Colbie Calliat? YES! Does he happen to have a duet with her on this CD? YES! Do I like every song? NOOO. 3 or 4 of them I can't stand. But the good far outweighs the "bad". And it's not bad, just not my style of music. But overall, a delightful CD. There is this one song, I often fantasize he wrote just for me, is "A Beautiful Mess". That song touches me in every way. The profound words, the melody, the delicate ... Read More

It's hard to describe the sound of Fleet Foxes to those unfamiliar with 1960's folk from the likes of Crosby, Stills & Nash (+/- Young) but try to imagine The Housemartins crossed with the Beach Boys and you will be getting the idea. Their beautiful harmonies are what set this band apart from others around at the moment.

I really looked forward to this album having listened to their brilliant EP Sun Giant but I was a bit disappointed. While I like this album, it lacks the clarity and beautiful simplicity of Sun Giant. For me there is too much going on, I feel I'm in a dense forest of sounds which detracts from the beautiful mind-blowing vocals. Having said all that I would still recommend it to all lovers of good music.

Disturbed is simply the best band on the shelves at the store. Indestructible is the best album from the band ever. yes the music might sound the same but my god every song is different and every song is kick a**. the title track is good and the 2 songs that were written from the past are awesome along with every other song on the album.
Every naysayer of Disturbed is not a fan of true rock music. so what if they arent hard enough to be considered metal, who cares they still rock. this cd is worth every penny you pay for it and the gas you pay to drive and get it the naysayers cannot be heard above the rest of us
