Just listened (twice) to the album I got a hold of after hearing a cut on RadioParadise.com, and IT'S FANTASTIC! A real mix of synthesized, reggae/world beat, and one song has a bit of jazz to it. All bring joy to my spirit. Just great listening.

I've only listened to a bit of TC before, 2 or 3 CD's. Couple really great songs, but overall nothing I'd plunk out my hard earned money for...until now. I'm on Amazon ordering my own copy of the CD, so I can have the best quality AND let TC know...this is what I like!

I'm going back to see if I've missed some other really great TC, as one reviewer suggests.

Upon my first listen or two of Third, I didn't think it was that much of a progression from their debut, Dummy, nor their self-titled sophomore album. But I've come to realize I was ever so wrong.

The dark, sexy vibe that Portishead pulled off before is now just, well, dark. Extremely eerie, and very sinister. Their music used to sound like something you'd hear in a smoky and dingy underground club at 3 a.m. with others around smoking, talking, and maybe even dancing. Third sounds like something you'd listen to alone in a dark and musty basement of an abandoned building with one hanging light bulb flickering on and off.

There is definitely a Silver Apples influence here, and it makes me salivate. I love the Silver Apples, but Portishead takes their template and adds ... Read More

A lot of words could be used to describe this work, but there are a few that seem more apropiated: beautiful, inspiring, lovely, sweet... For me, the most interesting thing in this new work by Emiliana Torrini is the fact that it shows an evolving style. Yes, still a beautiful, caressing voice, and in some points very mellow, but over all, more and more mature, more refined, more interesting, and, specially, deeper... Absolutely beautiful lyrics and very simple, almost minimal arragements. All the tracks are great, but for me, the greatest moments come with "Me and Armini", "Birds", "Heard it all before", "HA HA", "Hold Heart" and the absolutely beautiful final track, "Bleeder"... Definetely, a must if you like Emiliana's style. It just let us wanting more and more...

"Trip-hop"? "Downtempo"? Although it is a dark record, between Beth Gibbons' tortured voice, Geoff Barrows' beats, scratches and samples, and Adrian Utleys' jazzy guitar: this album is pure sex.

Don't believe me? Try it.

Great early work with Massive Attack was followed by Maxinquaye easily one of the top ten releases of the 90's and then nothing. Oh there was a cut here and there that teased at the genius of his early work, but nothing consistent. Well folks, the drought is over. This may be even better than Maxinquaye. I won't rush to judgement on that issue until I hear this disc a few hundred more times, but I am just happy that he still has it in him. My favorite cut opens the disc, Puppy Love. I cannot get it outta my head a mix of a smoky piano lounge sound, some violin and the Tricky hip hop signature whisper. It segues into the wonderful Bacative and the disc never lets up except for one throwaway track that sounds more like some of his weaker experimental stuff, Coalition. As usual he fills the disc with lots of unknown talent ... Read More

I have never received this item, have tracked it and the post office tracking merely says 'in transit' - but it has been weeks. I have been unable to find any customer service appropriate to this question within Amazon or the Post Office. I am an unhappy customer who is not likely to order from Amazon again. I am familiar with this music and know that I want it, and disappointed Amazon did not deliver what I paid for!

WHOA. Did I read that somebody skips-over "Inertia Creeps (#4)??"
Wow. That's pretty crazy, given that "Inertia Creeps" is one of the dopest songs on Mezzanine. It's like being in a knock-down-drag-out fist-fight in slow motion. What's not to like about that?
AND people down-grading "Black Milk?" What are you guys thinking?

#7 "Man Next Door" is my least likeable, but overall this album is epic as far as 90's music goes. Well yeah, it's pretty epic overall.

And seriously, give 100th Window more of a try. Songs like "Future Proof" and "Special Cases" are vintage Massive Attack. Period.

If you're looking to check out Thievery Corporation, this is the place to start. I got into them a few years ago, and this is their best, most consistent album from start to finish. I usually only like around 1/2 of the songs on their albums, but this one has no clunkers. Cosmic Game or Richest Man in Babylon are the next best.

This CD came up as an Amazon suggestion. I listened to the preview tracks and liked what I heard. Now that I've had the CD for about a month, I really like this disc. It's very pleasant. Emiliana has a wonderful voice. The songs are somewhat chillout like.

I think that if you like Dido, Beth Orton, Suzzane Vega, Sarah MacLaughlin, and Natalie Merchant (toss in a bit of Chillout); you will likely enjoy Emiliana. She was a very pleasant surprise to me. Not at all Bjork like.

I find N.O.W. records to always contain some stellar tracks and some I can't sit through. This is no different. The 3 tracks that lose me are
Be There, Hey Ego and Moretime. The rest is fantastic. Love the reggae!
I've got no trouble recommending this one.
