If you like Star Wars, this CD is for you! A beautiful set in new condition. Used in a presentation and it was sharp, music was great; it was a terrific bargain!

I was so disappointed with this CD that I bought a different Holst "Planets" CD. Zubin Mehta decided to rush through my favorite part of "Jupiter". The cello (I think) section should be slow and deliberate. The jolly clown is having a pensive moment. This part should be chewed finely and savored. Rushing through it ruins the piece. The rest is not exactly great, either.

For those of us that have collected soundtracks for many years and specially John Williams' music, it might seem a little redundant to buy this four disc compliation of his music that has every single track that I am sure every collector owns at least once. However once you start listening to the pieces you start to notice the little differences in their performance from the original versions. There are subtle changes in rythm and tempo and even different instruments play certain parts. These nuances make this redition of Willams' music a most enjoyable one.

It took me being an idiot, and selling this CD some years ago, and then reclaiming it again just tonight in order to realize what a beautiful collection of music this really is. Seriously, this set shows off the amazing scope and depth that John Williams has, while it doesn't have every last one of his amazing compositions, it still shows what a fine composer Mr. Williams really is. I will start off by stating that I started yearning for the set again after I saw a preview of E.T. being broadcast on TV and heard the sweeping "Flying Theme" playing in the background. The next thing you know, I'm off looking for this set, and bam! It's right in front of me, and I just decide to buy it. This is a great CD if you just want the best of the old Star Wars Trilogy. My kids love it. We've used it as a soundtrack for many of our homemade movies. You may have to pick up the soundtrack from Phantom Menace if you want to add Duel of the Fates.

Yea, I did. I love that song and found this album for less than $1 so I went ahead and bought it. Most of the track are excellent including the last one. Worth the money!

The stars lyrical quality is hypnotic. If you are a fan, this album does not disappoint, although the continuity between songs isn't quite as consistent as previous albums. If you are new to them then start with the earlier albums to get a better sense of where their electro-pop influences have come from. Great lyrics and narrative basis to the songs. Easy on the ears!
